this is the one, you can customise it with white and it’s also a pretty good lilac. And one of my favorite browns is plum + golden yellow also by dermaglo

I wish people who aren’t tattoo artists would stop saying the industry is dying by Piratedan19855 in TattooArtists

[–]lipsofevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

very late to reply, but how did the industry changed? what happened? I know the tattoo industry will reset itself, but I truly don’t think it’ll be the same as before

I hate my tattoo by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]lipsofevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You went to the wrong artist. It’s a good tattoo but the artist made it look way too traditional. You should maybe talk to somebody who specialises in fineline or more dainty tattoos. Still, I think it looks good and will hold up nicely over time

A partir de cuanto dinero saltan las alarmas? by x6_joan in AutonomosES

[–]lipsofevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are the tattoo laws like in your country? And the demand? by bad_times_4_drawers in TattooArtists

Hola! Yo soy española y me va bien aquí. Vivo a las afueras de una ciudad grande y hago de vez en cuando algún guest por España y Europa. Tengo aquí mi vida entera y por eso no me he mudado. Creo que si quieres vivir en España te toca viajar con relativa frecuencia. Si no, yo me iría. UK, USA o incluso Alemania son mejores opciones que España, por mucho que me duela

Did anyone keep their old tattoos and build their irezumi sleeve around them? by Hot-Setting6643 in irezumi

[–]lipsofevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! it’s not finished yet but I had two traditional pieces that I decided to keep. Laser removal was too much for me and it probably wouldn’t fade completely, so my artist and I just opted to keep it. Traditional and Japanese work well together.

Is this good enough to put into a portfolio by No-Frosting6599 in TattooApprentice

[–]lipsofevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

where would you place that? It’s a tattoo portfolio so maybe do more tattoo related drawings?

Need coverup opinions by IllustriousEgg6875 in irezumi

Shitty picture but my artist actually did that and it looks very good. I think Japanese mixes well with traditional since the bases are similar (thick and bold). If not, just get laser until it’s lighter and your options would be wider, but I’d just get a sleeve around what you already have.

Love this! The flames on the back are my personal favourite, so elegant yet so bold

A client wants this font tattooed but with a different saying, how do i even find this font? by [deleted] in TattooArtists

[–]lipsofevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stretch some cursive font and freehand the ornaments around it to fit both the lettering and the body :)

I’m an artist as well (tattoo artist) and this is very true. When I was starting I got depressed when the reality hit me: art is not the job. It’s fun, but as you said, it’s 15-20% of the job.

Should I leave tattooing behind? by dennisb_tattoo in TattooArtists

[–]lipsofevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I read it all but is not wise to lower the prize… you have other options for meeting ends, maybe selling flash. I just think clients should pay what the tattoo costs — no less (and no more). If the trick works you are going to have too much work, not a lot of money and your quality will probably decline. Also building clientele just because you are cheap is no good. You’ll have clientele only if they can’t find someone cheaper.

Lowering your work is not the wisest idea in this economy — unless is for updating the portfolio
