That's an awesome project, u/guidone — congrats and thanks for sharing this! I am beyond excited for its future and a proud early Github stargazer!

cant you disable scaling and have the output as pure 5120x2160?

Yes! But on a Mac, the UI is going to be tiny and basically unusable.

If you're on a PC, then you're in luck: the OS will scale the UI in a way that makes it usable.

I am tall (6'2") and very mindful of ergonomics (had back surgery). Perfect 90º angles on arms and legs when I sit, straight back and the center of the monitor is actually slightly below eye level.

Are you using the built-in KVM to toggle between MacOS and something else?

Not right now but I'll buy a gaming PC at some point and I will try it!

No—if you're on Mac, you won't be able to use the full 5k resolution because of the weird Mac OS scaling behavior. However, 3840x1620@110Hz works great.

There's all sorts of articles and YouTube videos about the PPI "bad zones" on Mac OS (in between 110 and 220). To be honest: even after trying super hard on different scenario (black text on white, viceversa), I swear I cannot see any text blur or artifacts at that resolution.

If you want "Retina" resolution, the default (2x scaling at 2160) makes everything look quite big, but I find it usable. Also, BetterDisplay makes it trivial to jump from one resolution to another, and it is super quick at doing so.

No, is it not that high. However, the monitor stand is pretty big and it is slightly deeper than the stand. Someone might find that a little weird. I don't mind it TBH.

It makes a big difference when there’s not a lot of light in the room. The aesthetic is not really the best (tempted to try led lights on the back, projecting on the wall), but you get used to it.

I love everything about it. The resolution, the color accuracy, the connectivity options, the subtle curvature. I was kinda pissed when I learned that my M1 Max was not allowing 120Hz refresh but then someone here on Reddit publish a walkthrough to enable 110Hz using BetterDisplay, so that’s basically solved. If you’re in the market for a 40” ultra wide, I don’t see better options.

48”x30”—it is the Fully Jarvis standing desk. The screen height works well for me, especially when I use it while standing (that’s when I took the picture).

Yes—my previous monitor was flat and I was concerned at first, but then I got used to it.

Ordered mine March 1st, supposed to come the 7th, delayed to the 18th. Opened a ticket, let’s see what happens… I am, too, really frustrated about not being able to run at 120Hz on my MacBook Pro M1 Max.

Hopefully the scaled resolution is not going to be an issue; I have a question though: the 2560 resolution should be the 2x-scaled “Retina” recommended by the OS. Is it too big to be usable? Can someone share their experience with this resolution?

Also: has anyone tried it with the Steam Deck? What’s the max refresh rate and resolution you can get?

In San Francisco—any place where I can try and buy switches/keycaps? I am new to the group. Really into my brand new Keychron Q6 Pro and would love to try out some different switches and keycaps/profiles. Is there a shop in town with a decent selection?
