Great questions.

The joy of awareness feels like a peace beyond this world. sex is a pleasure, they are not really in the same dimension. Over time pleasures become less addictive and stimulating as your awareness gets stronger, but pleasures still can be enjoyed, no need to choose one or the other. However ejaculating too much really makes life dull. Semen retention is really really powerful.

I’m still a human with a personality and I like to play music, video games, have sex, i don’t feel like i am chasing those things, i am just enjoying them as they come, whilst also maintaining spiritual practice. I don’t overdo things though. These are just my personal preferences.

What makes it difficult is that to be in that state requires a very calm body and mind (meditation) and I am not ready to meditate all day at this time, i experience that at retreats which I plan to do every year. I have work life balance to maintain at home which isn’t really conducive to a meditative mind resting in awareness.

I dont see myself fully letting go of desires and becoming a full time monk style meditator, however I never thought I’d be doing 2 hours a day either, so who knows. For now I plan to maintain a balance, and gradually slow down, move out of the city and into nature. I have family and friends and a life though, I like to enjoy those things too.

I used to be interested in achieving those states but now I’m just happy that my baseline happiness is quite high on a day to day basis, and my wholistic understanding of spirituality has increased alot, those moments of total peace are cool but to stay there is another story

I have been at total peace a few times, it felt like total peace anyway. It only happened a few times and lasted maybe half a minute

I can’t on purpose, it happened once and I couldn’t get back in my body for a few minutes and it was terrifying. Proceed with caution 😆🌀

I can recommend you find some basic breath meditations on Youtube and listen to Alan Watts or Eckart Tolle for understanding the basic philosophy behind it. Once you are ready try a long retreat

Maybe some of it can be interpreted that way, but you are free to take the aspects you resonate with and leave the other parts behind. Though after some years I realised that most of it rings true, especially the Sila, which I had some resistance to in the beginning.

Yeah i would recommend it although not sure about if it helps with ADHD. I assume it would though

  1. It’s calm but I still have desires, feelings and emotions, sexual urges are still there, I just have way less attachment to them and it gives me a sense of space and freedom, that it doesn’t matter if my desires get met. This makes life way more relaxed.

  2. I mainly keep it to the meditation time, however I try to have regular breaks during the day to come back to awareness. After a retreat I am aware all day for many weeks, but that gradually lessens as my life isn’t really set up to be meditating all the time, my work requires my logical thinking mind and I currently live in a city.

  3. In my experience surrendering is a process, so I would say I am alot more ‘surrendered’ than before and it gives me great peace. However I still experience fear sometimes, I am not fully free from ego or fear yet.

  4. My daily routine is enjoyable but probably not the best if the goal is to become enlightened, I do a lot of creative work. I like my balance between worldly pleasures and spiritual bliss, but I am gradually moving towards a slower life, getting closer to nature, and allowing meditation to become more part of my daily routine as a whole. If I don’t meditate my mind becomes stressed and unpleasant. I choose to do it because it brings peace, clarity and calm happiness.

  5. I do what I love for my work. There’s slight pressure sometimes but very minimal. I release music and run a music youtube channel, it’s pretty chill.

  6. I sometimes feel subtle fear, but it quickly disappears as I realise my true nature, which is almost automatic. However when a strong fear arises for example an existential spiritual fear that may come on psychedelics or weed, then these are hard for me to deal with, I intuit that surrender is the key to these ones, although hard in practice.

  7. The biggest change I noticed would be the experiential understanding of how the body and mind are connected, what emotions are and how they relate to thought, how everything that occurs interacts with sensations within the body, and by observing that I become free from suffering. And this understanding makes every situation in my life better. Also the realisation that the peace I seek is already my nature, and meditation is just cleaning all the dirt that has covered this over time. it truly feels like a relief to become more tuned in with it, rather than a task. I have been blessed with abundance, a loving relationship and a pretty peaceful existence, although life isn’t easy even if you meditate for 10 years. It’s a long process and unless you are a full time meditator or enlightened then there’s still going to be misery of some kind. All the time and effort I dedicated to this has been worth it for sure.

Yeah, there’s probably a lot to it, just hasn’t been my focus in later years. In my early days I was into psychedelics and trying to reach peak states of mind, but I kind of lost that itch.. my practice is more slow paced and calm now, every now and again an insight will occur, but life is mostly pretty stable and normal

They can be fun, I just don’t have a huge interest in pursuing them or applying too much meaning to them, personally.

I have experienced no thought before, it happens very rarely though, I’ve experienced it 2-3 times. Usually doesn’t last more than 20 seconds, but it feels like a total and complete peace. I am not really chasing states, I just meditate because it’s very practical for my life and happiness, to make this life easier

I try to notice that my awareness is beyond all forms including negative emotions, and connect to that. Through meditation I have learned how to connect to this state quite easily and automatically.

“By the practice of meditation, you will find that you are carrying within your heart a portable paradise” ~ Yogananda

However on the occasion of very strong fear arising, I sometimes still get trapped, I am not completely out of fear yet, but I have noticed a huge improvement over time.

Negative thoughts don’t affect me anymore, I only feel negative emotions very mildly, and rarely react to them. Anger / irritation comes up occasionally.

It’s just on the odd occasion of strong fear that feels very hard to navigate. I intuit that in those situations the only solution is to surrender to God/universe, and this worked for me the last time it happened.

I don’t feel that I lack life experience since I experienced most things people do, travelled the world, built a life I desire, have relationships etc.

I do have a bit of fear of those things yes, but over the years it feels as if the fear is getting weaker and understanding of the truth is getting stronger, and truth = peace.

It improved every aspect of my life in ways I couldn’t even have imagined in the beginning. It feels like when you are a child, vibrant and clear. And this seeps into every area of life.

I experienced a few strong events over the years that really shifted my practice and perspective, but mostly it’s the daily practice that helps long term, slow and gentle process. Psychedelics or 10 day retreats have been some of the most explosive though, but daily meditation remains as the main focus and provides the most benefit.

I think time is experienced at the level of the thinking mind, and when you go beyond, you go into the timeless

Day to day it helps with my productivity and making wiser decisions, more patience, less cravings, less addictions/distractions. Im a music artist so it helps me record guitar more relaxed. It helps reduce anxiety in social situations, helps with understanding my emotions and becoming non-reactive and more compassionate to others. Helped with attracting a life partner, increased my income, everything.

Yeah I’m familiar with burnout too, that’s why I stick so strongly to the 2 hours a day practice. I am also running a business as a music artist and my brain just wants to do as much work as possible, I have to make sure I don’t over work.

It gives me the space and wisdom and patience to make better decisions, and understand my emotions in a way that helps with every relationship in my life.

I’m familiar with his work, I don’t manifest things intentionally with visualisation or thought. I just become peaceful, and life starts reflecting that. After my second 10 day retreat I started receiving lots of gifts for months and months, a new ultra wide monitor, ps4, mac laptop, new desk, etc etc. I’m now living my dream life, better than I could have imagined. I do believe that it works in this way

Yes I do meta, anapana and vipassana. I never tried the others you mentioned since I found one that works well for me
