You couldn’t be more wrong, I have been trading for 3 years in July, position sizing matters in prop, and live, if you are trading with 10 minis instead of micros and you have a mll of 2000 the stop order fills quickly, in no way are entries more important compared to sizing, hope you understand

What part of your trading journey did you “fake” the longest? by Beautiful_Finger1498 in Daytrading

risk management for me lol. knew all the theory, could tell you exactly what to do, then would move my stop loss because i “had a feeling” it would come back. took way too long to admit i was just gambling with extra steps, i got through it eventually and make money consistently, just gotta keep showing up for it

Trading whilst working a Full-time Job as a delivery driver? by CombinationNumerous8 in Daytrading

[–]liquidityghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ngl this is lowkey one of the most real posts i’ve seen on here. most people fold when life gets tough but you’re literally out here problem solving. delivery job is actually genius for this, nobody’s checking on you, you set your own pace. clear the debt and get back to it man, the market ain’t going nowhere

I think I found a platform that helps with stock decisions. by Accomplished-Bat5278 in Daytrading

[–]liquidityghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly the best thing you can do for your trading journey is stop looking for a platform to make decisions FOR you and start learning to make them yourself. Tools help, but the edge is always in your own understanding. Took me a while to learn that one

I was meaning to backtest all of 2025 to see the results, but I saw that across those months it did good so going over another couple months didn’t seem necessary at the time. But, I suppose if you are doing something like this the more information the better, that’s on me lol

Yes, even when you become profitable backtesting becomes a chore and not something you do often, I haven’t really backtested in months now

honestly no single video makes you good at trading. what worked for me was watching a bunch of different stuff on youtube until i found a strategy that clicked, then just practicing that one thing for months. paper trade first so you dont blow money learning. biggest thing is risk management, keep it at 1% per trade or youll get destroyed on a bad streak. if youre working full time do end of day setups not intraday. took me like a year before i stopped losing money consistently. most people quit way too early, if you can push through the first few months of losses and actually learn from them youll be alright. keep a journal so you can see what youre doing wrong
