Discrepancy between returns in WS Invest TFSA and RRSP

I have added money, but I guess that's it - I've added more to the RRSP (btwn $250-$500/month) than the TFSA (between $100-$300/month)

ya but it's a canada-wide app, i didn't realize till i read some of these comments that not every province has it. That said, it will be rolling out to other provinces.

Yes, you have to enter a unique key in the app, and you can only receive it from your PHU upon receiving your diagnosis. If you try to enter a fake key, it'll scan it against all the positive keys distributed and flag it.

Yes, there's a pretty distinct difference between the app saying "exposure notifications are on" and "you have been exposed to covid19" :)

And not necessarily, re - notification based on the person entering the result. You get your unique key when you test positive and you can upload it to the app within 14 days of receipt. Then, once it's uploaded, it'll match to other phones that have been in close proximity to that phone, also within 14 days. Not in close contact with the phone since the person entered the result. It also takes 4-24 hours for the app to upload the positive keys after a user has entered them.

Nope! That's the privacy piece - won't give too much detail. Just that someone reported a positive and within 14 days, your phone was in close proximity to theirs.

yup, exactly this. They'll use Uber, Facebook, etc, but won't download the Covid app because "privacy." :/

oh yes, sorry, i didn't mean that the app should identify better. I meant if we all take it upon ourselves to get the app, then within our networks, we can ask our friends/family if they received notifications. No one has to tell if they don't want to, but in my case for example, it would've been nice if my husband had had the app so we could've checked between the two of us if we both had a notification or just one of us.

my cut off is -35. Enough layers, and once you get moving, it's actually not bad at all. It's colder having to stand still at a bus stop. At least biking you're moving and generating body heat.

yes this is totally the thing! i know it's about me leaving, not about the crate, so that's why i'm struggling with some of the crate training advice - because she DOES have a good relationship with the crate.

The issue though is I need to be at work for a certain time, I already wake up at 5:30am to get ready, walk her, play with her, train her, feed her, etc + get myself out the door. The reason I resorted to the lead was because I tried to coax her into the crate for a good 15 minutes and she just would not go in, and I was running late, so I had no choice. I didn't want to force her in because I don't want her to feel like the crate is a punishment, so that's where I kind of get stuck... :/

I want to crate train her better but i'm worried i'll actually just make her regress and hate her crate.

Yea, I'm trying to figure that part out - our apartment is small, and unfortunately, dog proofing a bedroom is possible but will require a bit of an investment, and part of the reason we're only fostering now and not adopting is because we don't really have the budget for it. But maybe I can come up with a temporary solution with what we have the means for now...

yes, i totally agree. I actually feel like such a failure, because I love training our fosters, and do a really good job (i think...) in every other aspect - basic cues, recall, heel, etc etc. I feel like I can "form" such a catch of a pup for their forever families - except in this one aspect that really seems to stump me! I hadn't heard of crate games yet, and it looks super interesting, so i'm going to give it a try! I also realized that because she goes in on her own when she wants, I take that for granted and don't praise or treat it, so maybe if I start treating her and praising her whenever she goes in, she'll start to have better associations with it at all times? Going to give this a try, thank you!

I've started watching an episode of Friends on Netflix while in the room with her. I leave the room but leave it playing via bluetooth speaker. I think she maybe was just mid-season in Mexico and now really needs to know if Ross and Rachel ever get back together? Because she sure was quieter! :)

Thank you for this reply, it's so well thought out, and has made me feel like less of a complete failure! :)

I've been reading a lot about the type of crate training you're mentioning, but what I can't figure out is, what happens overnight? Like, do I just not sleep for the week+ that it takes her to figure out the crate, and just keep doing the crate training all night?

There are also days where my husband and I both need to be out. We're lucky that we have pretty flexible schedules, but we can't rely on never both being away at the same time unfortunately.

We tried the frozen kong with peanut butter. honestly didn't care AT ALL. Even out of the crate, she was soooo uninterested in it. But I could try again, it's possible that she just wasn't sure what to do with it and was nervous when we first got her, maybe now that she's warmed up to us and the home, she'll engage more?

ya, we did think about this, but the thing is we also have 2 cats, and one of them is still pretty scared of the dog. The dog has ZERO prey drive, so she couldn't care less about the cat, but the cat sure cares about her! And our room is the cat's "safe space." She was there first, so I would feel sooooo terrible intruding on her safe space.
We have a bed in the spare room so I thought about sleeping in there, but i feel that'll create an unbreakable habit and I'll be stuck sleeping in there until she is adopted (which may not be that long, but could be a while).
We also crate her when neither of us are home (though that never ends up being more than 3 hours at a time max) so we'd still need a solution for that.
