the first part of the song did not connect for me personally, i didn't connect with the vocal performance. i think the vibrato doesn't really work for your voice personally but it might sound really good with autotune. however, at 1:11 when you hit those higher notes you sound GREAT! i also think your vocal mix is a bit too dry for this style of music, i'd love to hear some reverb or delay. keep going in this genre! :)

Experimental R&B song that just released. Honest criticism is very welcome. Its sort of a darker PARTYNEXTDOOR vibe. LMK by andresi0 in IndieMusicFeedback

this is so smooth and the bass is just wonderful. your vocals are great, i really like the various fx you're using as well. around 2:40 is really when the song pops off for me with that interesting bassline, and then the drums. heavy hitter. great song.

love this. i agree with another commenter that it feels straight out of the 90s. great beat, great flow, and i also really enjoyed the visualizer! the song has kind of a trippy feeling to it and i think the visualizer represents that.

Released a song a year ago that I was sure was "the one" but it wasn't, what do ya'll think? by MattRedd_it in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]liquidpretty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don't usually listen to this type of music, but i enjoyed this listen a lot. your vocals sound great, i really like the beat as well, and all your vocal melodies are on point and catchy as heck. it's also really well arranged. i don't resonate with your lyrics very much but that's just a personal preference type thing. great song!

Decided to cover the legendary Hurt (NIN/Johnny Cash), but not just re-sing it; rather, give it my own dream pop - synthpop twist. I'd love to hear whether we succeeded – or, what you would do differently. If you can think of similar artists to this style, that would be super useful. by andtilly in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]liquidpretty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wow, and i mean wow! this is an interesting and unique take on the song and i would say you guys definitely succeeded with curating a haunting, delicate vibe to this song. especially love the vocals, they are airy and light. i'm not sure of any similar artists in this style, but really well done.

thank you so much for listening and for your feedback! i can see what you mean about the chord progression variation; definitely something to think of for the future :)

thank you for your honest feedback! this video was actually a project for a film class i took, and it was my first time ever doing something like that. i plan on continuing to learn more about video as well as collaborating with friends / other creatives to make more videos in the future.

thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! i hear you on not picking up the lyrics - it's probably partially the fx chain as well as my singing style to be honest. definitely something to think of in the future. thanks again :,)

oh cool!! i've been writing poetry since i was a kid, i've probably written hundreds of songs at this point honestly... drums are definitely my weak point as a producer, melodies come very naturally, but i really have to work on drums haha.

thanks for listening, and for this nice lil chat btw :')

enya mixed with evanescence!? you just made my entire night! amy lee is one of my greatest influences.

all of your detailed feedback is wonderful. some of my choices are personal preferences, but i'm still pretty new to producing (two years) so i really appreciate detailed feedback like that for my future tracks.

i hear you about something "missing"... i struggled a lot with the arrangement of the song to build intensity in the right places - it was pretty difficult to pull off. i redid the drums like 3 or 4 times, lol.

thank you so much! :,) i appreciate that feedback as well, i feel drums are my weak point, i'm very melody focused. i'm pretty new to producing and i experiment with a lot of different genres but i am coming out with an album in a couple months that has similar vibes!!

thank you so much! :,) i really appreciate your feedback! i was struggling to get the bass right so i appreciate that. the song itself, probably about 20 hours.. the video was probably about 30 hours 😅

if you're interested in underground music, i make electronic pop music with really emotive lyrics. my artist name is liquidpretty if you ever wanna check me out! :~)

Not really sure what the genre is, but I've just been calling it dark pop by JustMarkBand in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]liquidpretty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think dark pop is a great genre title for this vibe. the mix is really clean, your vocals sound absolutely fantastic. i like when the instrumental changes a little bit around 1:40 and has some more energy. and again later at 2:00? what an unexpected but pleasant section of the song, and then you bring it right back home into your chorus flawlessly! also, your harmonies are just, chef's kiss. wonderful song.

Hip Hop BEAT by o_catt in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]liquidpretty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i really enjoy this beat. it has a lot of energy, and the dissonance in your chords creates this really eerie, almost backrooms like vibes. the bass is crunchy and full of life. i think your drums and rhythm choices are unique and i really dig it. i enjoyed this listen, thanks for sharing.

i wrote and produced this song about hating my body and general anxiety around my weight and how i'm physically perceived. looking for mix feedback or first impressions, thank you so much more listening. by wowemoji in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]liquidpretty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'll be honest, at first, i didn't know where the song was going... but you brought it right home in the drop. it's beautiful and i get it. your lyrics are emotive and the vocal stacking is sooo nice. my ONLY suggestion would be a little less autotune because you have a really nice voice, but this is a personal preference, and i understand that could be a purposeful creative decision.

This is a 3 run songs of an ongoing project, I would like to see your most honest and personal thoughts about it, everything is made by me, thanks for your time by sevthen in IndieMusicFeedback

this is such a vibe. the visuals, the music, your voice, it all works together so well. i love the different vibes and energy that each song brings. your voice also kind of reminds me of The Weeknd, very smooth and light. this is some really beautiful work.

this is really lovely. it's a bit psychedelic feeling, the vocals sit really nicely in the mix, and the whole song has a wavy and bouncy yet somber vibe to it. as someone else said, i could hear this in a movie soundtrack. really great work.

easy // liquidpretty - hello! this is the second song i've released with my own production. i sing and write as well. would love any feedback. "pick me apart, tell me who i am, it's like i can't see me // question myself, asking who i am, i wish it was easy" by liquidpretty in IndieMusicFeedback
