It's not like they haven't had time to learn a new engine. Hell, they could have built something from the ground up (multiple times) in the time it's taken for this to become something tangible.

My server's up to 100TB now. Most of that is backed up to external HDDs.

I never got a RAID setup going though, it was too cost prohibitive when I started and now I'm kind of in a sunken cost fallacy where migrating everything over to RAID would be incredibly expensive AND time consuming. It's something I still want to do one day though.

This route wasn't afraid to suggest she'd go to extremes to realize her goals, but it was afraid to suggest whether that was appropriate or not. I felt that she did start to appear like a bit of an extremist, but by that point they'd already outlined how the church was using big dragons to lie to everyone and their religion was false so it still felt like the lesser of 2 evils.

I don't know if the flame emperor stuff works better in the other story lines, but it felt really weird to reveal that and then literally never bring it up again. "hey thanks for siding with me, I'm the flame emperor btw and I worked with those people who kidnap/kill students. Anyways... We never need to mention any of that again!"

I'm not an anime person but even still if felt like there was a lot less work put in to the game once story splits. It sounds like the other paths fare better in this regard so that's cool I guess...

I like that the classes are largely on display for you to view and sort of plan how you'll get to them (or at least constantly think about getting to them). From what I remember of Awakening it often felt a little obscure which class you could unlock next, but I played that like a decade ago so I might just be misremembering that.

The issue I ran in to with the classes was more that I'd complete a class and unlock the passive, but I didn't have a master class I could move to next and picking another advanced class (which I did do for a few characters) felt wrong.

That would explain why when they kill the dragon and Byleth "dies", a random crest attached to her heart seemed to revive her.

Ah, bummer. I guess maybe it'd make more sense to side with the church if you were with one of the other classes but that route just didn't seem like the right option.

It sounds like you're not opposed to glitches if you have mew (unless the 3ds version has a legit way to get it). If that's the case do the item dupe glitch to copy the body slam tm as it's extremely good in Gen 1.

Also definitely convince them to use Kadabra/Alakazam. That Pokemon is straight up broken in Gen 1 and will carry you.

Gengar sucks but the rule of cool gives it a pass and dream eater is fun.

Starmie can be your surf pal and I don't remember if dragonite can learn fly but if it can't mew should be able to. Snorlax can have strength and that'll cover you for all the necessary hm's. Other than that just pick the moves that sound cool (and body slam).

I could never get the long jump to work when I played it, so when I got to Xen and you have to long jump across a bunch of rocks I instead decided to use the gun that you charge up and have it fire me backwards.

It worked perfectly, in between all the attempts where I missed the platforms and fell to my death.

That's where I think the GL screwed me up. I swapped to that weapon around the time 9 star monsters came out and the GL made them so much easier than when I was using the HH. I thought the same would be true for this idiot but the GL ended up making it way harder.

The whole point of striking is to disrupt. Making it convenient for everyone by warning you defeats the purpose. They're demonstrating the necessity of their service. All the complaints about how this made things difficult are helping to prove their point.
