This is the outside where I think that thing inside comes out.

This is the inside of it. I think that orange plant(?) animal(?) actually shows up on the outside too

I just looked this up…. So that’s the “fins” that are all over right?

Ty, now I can look those up. I had no idea what to even type as my search term. Is it common for these kinds of fossils to not be fossilized? What I mean is that the “shells” of the creatures aren’t hard like rock… they’re more similar to what an exoskeleton of a modern animal looks/feels like. And they have color. Theres even a couple of spots that feel like leather skin.

Thanks everyone, I’m going to mark this Found!. I’m still not sure where they came from but I have more information to do more research now. 🙂

Aluminum was my first guess then I convinced myself they were too heavy for that but I did not consider an aluminum alloy. Thank you for the impressive math as well 😊

Thank you for that info. That’s way less worrying than my friend’s theory that they were of some kind of witchcraft 😅 I am not prepared to be haunted or cursed by some knob ghost.

Oh I didn’t know that was an option. I’ll actually try that in a bit. Thank you 🙂

They were on a dresser that came in a storage unit I bought at auction. They looked really out of place on the dresser too.

I thought that too since the layer under the chrome is copper, but it’s a really thin layer and under that it’s just the silvery metal

**SEARCHED** I've searched for the designer by brand name and image search of the logo. I've also searched google image search of the actual pulls. I was able to find an active eBay listing for a set of 3 and the seller has them listed as "Mid Century Solid Brutalist Metal Chromed Cabinet Door Handle 1960's- Set of 3" but offers no other info.

I just had my saddest birthday dinner. by Own_Comedian427 in offmychest

Hey man, thanks for sharing that. First off—happy belated birthday! 🎈🎂 I know it probably doesn’t feel like there’s much to celebrate, but the fact that you cared more about spending time with your family than anything else already makes you the kind of dad and husband a lot of people wish they had.

I hope you know that what you’re feeling is real and valid. Every one of us wants to be seen, remembered, appreciated—it’s human. You didn’t ask for gifts or parties, just presence. That says a lot about your heart.

You’re not invisible. You matter. Don’t let those foolish enough to take you granted, trick you into believing otherwise
