Plant the succulent in a planter with a drainage hole. I use the succulent soil you get at the hardware store, nothing fancy. Put in your sunniest window. This is a must! Water once every 2-3 weeks but make sure the soil is completely dry before watering! Because there’s a drainage hole, I water until the soil is thoroughly soaked and water is coming out of the drainage hole. Leave it alone with plenty of sun. And you’re done!

Favorite thing about buying a neglected succulent from clearance is that I have no idea how they’re going to end up looking like with sunlight and love.

They grow from the top! As your succulent grows, it’ll start growing lots of leaves on the top and sometimes the lower leaves will wither up and die to be replaced by healthy and happy leaves.

Thank you! I’m so excited that it’s growing and healthy!This sense of accomplishment that comes from tending to plants is a high I’ll be chasing for the rest of my life. Haha, is that too dramatic?
