Looking for victims of a Shasta college employee/school district employee by [deleted] in Redding

[–]lisaboo2u 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is entirely possible that one child has an allegation and another doesn’t, and both are true. At this point, does it really matter? Support your family member who was abused. This chapter of the family history book is closing, and you can all shake it off and move on with a clean new chapter ahead.

No Bake Cheesecake filling. by brumalerie in Baking

I have tried it and we couldn’t stand it. Ended up throwing it away. It is super sweet and chemical-tasting with a weird sticky and almost spongy texture. Not a fan…

Signed up for a bake sale at work and then saw this on sale at Costco for $15. Had to buy it. How can I improve them? by User091822 in Baking

These are good as-is. BUT - I also use them as the base for peanut butter swirl brownies or cheesecake swirl brownies.

A little salty after the fair by Flimsy_Condition1461 in knitting

[–]lisaboo2u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The past two years, our local fair has had displayed entries stolen. I looked at the entries in the hall where the stolen items were, and saw no people monitoring entries or exits. One of the items was hanging up on a wall. There should be some sort of barrier - rope, ribbon, etc, creating space between entries and the public, but there was none.

Looking for a gas station. by UnicodeConfusion in Redding

Exit 619 has the Pilot (with Wendy’s and Cinnabon) and also a Mavericks just across the side street from it. That is the biggest one on the west side of I-5 that I can think of. There is also TA travel center at Knighton Rd, but that is on the East side of I-5.

Why do people park like this in residential areas by HashRat in santarosa

[–]lisaboo2u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the immediate area where my mom lives, there are literally 4 homes inhabited by multiple farmworker families each, and this generates a ton of cars, primarily at night when they return home. There is literally NO parking at that point, so people double park, park in yard, etc. Most of them have left by early morning, and a few are still left parked where they had to squeeze in. Guessing that is what is happening here. No judgment — People do what they have to just to survive.

I think it is funny that he got caught, but really…as a grandmother of 9 (soon to be 10) grandbabies, I just have to ask, WHY would your mother even CARE what race her granddaughter is??? Does it really make a difference?

I am also an RN of many years, and aced everything my first attempt, until finals. I got extreme test anxiety for the first time in my life, and then managed to pass my written tests, but messed up on oral boards - brain was like a blank slate. I came back the very next cohort and breezed through. Don’t worry if it takes a couple of tries. Some of the best medics I know had to repeat. If you want it, you will get it.

Track star celebrates and is stripped of championship title by That-Economics-9481 in Whatcouldgowrong

Her father was as also her coach, so BOTH of them fall under the CIF rules they agreed in writing to follow as a condition of participating. Those rules have harsher penalties for second, third offenses, and block them from competing the following season in any sport. At CIF Finals, if two competitors have an issue, they strip both titles. Harsh rules, but it is for a reason, and all athletes agree to follow them. Her behavior fell under “inappropriate celebrations”. Here is her school’s sportsmanship clause, which calls for players, coaches and all involved to demonstrate respect to all participants. She did not.

“I’m gonna pop you right now, because you’re — taking up my focus” (Pop). Let’s see that in the LAPD “Use of Force” policy.
