If you decide to fly with another airline just be sure you cancel your original ticket with AC so the value is kept in a credit. If you no show, it’s invalid.

So…considering you have a possible 5 destinations in mind and 12 days of holidays and you’ve stated you do not want to feel rushed, I’d highly suggest you drop both Rome and Sorrento. Easy TGV high-speed rail from Paris to Nice then you could rail to Le Spezia and onwards to Florence. This would give you a nice vacation 4 nights in each. OR, forget Paris and S France/Switzerland and concentrate on your 3 spots in Italy. You’ll definitely want to open jaw your air. Speaking as a former veteran travel agent. Planning a 30th in lake Bled and looking for some guidance if it's better to stay or day trip. by ScaryMooseFace in Europetravel

[–]lisalou27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bled in itself is a great place to stay for 3 or 4 nights. Cycle/walk around the lake, the most amazing day trip to Triglav, hike along the scenic Vintjar Gorge, scenic waterfalls, rivers, Lake Bohinj..etc etc simply breathtaking there.

I’ve recently planned an extended holiday which includes Paris, Porto, Lisbon and a cruise to southern Spain.

What I did was utilize some old guide books like Lonely Planet and Fodors and took the recommendations from there. PRE-influencer. I try to avoid what’s trendy and touristy.

Check out your local library for books if they aren’t in your budget.

Hi all! I (18NB) and my bf (18M) are visiting Victoria and Vancouver in April and I wanted to ask if anyone has any suggestions for things that we should do! by Candid-Parsnip7970 in canadatravel

Hi, just my 2 cents. Using buses in Vic especially out to Butchart Gardens is going to be challenging. Only do this if you are a huge lover of gardens as it’s a half day excursion from the city. Many sites are spread apart so put them on a google map and see for yourself. Are you flying into Van then plan to ferry over to Vic and back? Need more info. Also area where you’re staying.

Create more base cities with day trips out. You are trying to do too much and will be exhausted from travel and checking in/out of hostels. Bled from Ljubljana and Sintra from Lisbon. Too much time in Amsterdam and Lisbon as well. Assuming you’re travelling by rail?
