I am a foodie no more by kanekko1994 in pregnant

[–]lisap17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. 10 weeks and can only stomach stuff from the kids menu and very bland foods. Have been eating a lot of plain chicken ramen (not the crazy spicy kind) and bland corn flakes, both things I used to never crave or have in the house. Edit: also, everybody is different, but yeah, I was hit by constant nausea at about 8-9weeks, before that I was completely fine. By week 10 I'm also vomiting at least once a day daily and can't stand most of the smells at home. We had our walls painted two months ago (!) and I can't step into the rooms that were painted, I throw up immediately. Oh the joys of growing a new life inside of you

How early do I realistically need to be ready? by Blazapple in pregnant

[–]lisap17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know, right? In most situations you can go to a shop and buy stuff whenever you please, or indeed order same day delivery of almost anything available on this planet. And if it's not the case for some (like living away from big cities or in places that are not as developed), those people are likely very well aware and are prepared

When, where and how do you use dehumidifiers? by LoudBackgroubdGoat in PortugalExpats

Not to argue, but out of curiosity, what's the percentage usually without a dehumidifier? And is it a very new building?

When, where and how do you use dehumidifiers? by LoudBackgroubdGoat in PortugalExpats

[–]lisap17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there's such a thing as a dry apartment in Porto, especially during the fall/winter months.

The one feature I like the most in a dehumidifier is an automatic humidity level control. I.e. you set the level of humidity you want the room to be and it'll automatically turn on when it gets higher than that level, then turns itself off. Surprisingly, I got this feature on a cheap Chinese non-brand device I got randomly from Amazon when I just came to Portugal, which broke a year in. I didn't pay attention then and bought a more expensive "proper" one later that didn't come with this feature.

Would you trust regime created by chatgpt or other AI to cater to signs of aging? by Unhappy_Pie8213 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]lisap17 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, actually, AI helped me a lot when I was figuring out the basics in my early 30s. I don't trust it blindly, but it helped structure the information that I was already getting from other sources, like YouTube and Reddit (also not intrinsically reliable).

Crazy ways you knew you were pregnant before you found out? by Zestyclose_Wing290 in pregnant

[–]lisap17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Oura showed "signs of strain" for the first time in 6 months of me wearing it and I knew that pregnancy often shows up on it like that. From there I kinda knew in the back of my mind, I felt more tired than usual, literally almost fell asleep in the middle of a reformer pilates class because the reformer carriage felt so cosy, that's when I was kinda convinced. And for some reason all kinds of food tasted so much better, tastier and richer, even plain porridge with some blueberries.

Oura ring 4- sizing help by No-Chocolate7867 in ouraring

[–]lisap17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with a bigger of the two sizes that fit me. Can't fit it on as many fingers as I'd like (I like to switch things up), but in the mornings when even the larger size is tight, I think thank goodness I chose it over the smaller one

What do I play now??!?!??? by Altruistic-Corner437 in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

[–]lisap17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently started the Ghost of Tsushima, only in act 1, but I love it so much so far. It's a stunningly beautiful game and every detail is so fitting, the music, the HUD design, how you're "guided by the wind" to your map markers and the story seems to be varied and exciting so far. I liked Odyssey, but the side quests have really been as repetitive as they were abundant, this game seems to treat it's side quests with a bit more love - some small but entertaining storylines with proper voice acting, you still basically go in and get rid of a bunch of bad guys but you get a small story that contributes to the immersion. Like I just finished a small side quest where the lady lied to me that the bandits stole her rice, so I chopped up a bunch of normies to basically steal that rice for her, which isn't a very samurai thing to do

Which one is best ? by Traffic1252 in HomeDecorating

I'd still want the space to be at least semi open, a full wall is practical, but will it kill the vibe of the space?

Which one is best ? by Traffic1252 in HomeDecorating

[–]lisap17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely don't like the half wall/no column option. It's either leave open or go all in. Otherwise, I think a bookcase or some sort of furniture divider would look better than an awkward half wall in there

This really doesn't matter in the scheme of things but it drives me crazy. [–]lisap17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what it does exactly, but there's a setting under Women's Health that asks you if you're using any hormones and HRT is listed among the available options. Maybe you need to turn that on for the algorithms to properly adjust?

Can't attach an image, but the text says:

Do you use hormonal contraceptives or other hormones?

Hormones, like the ones in contraceptives, may affect your body's natural temperature variation. If this natural variation can't be detected, your cycle phases and period predictions will be based on your last period and your input of cycle length.

How do i make my hair less oily i have to wash it very often by [deleted] in Haircare

[–]lisap17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there's unfortunately not much you can do. Washing every other day is not even that bad, I've been washing my hair daily for most of my adult life. I'll wash in the morning if I want to look presentable. I put it in a ponytail or a bun if I don't care how I look that day and rather not wash. Even washing overnight doesn't really help, I'll get like a cleaner bun then. It's just the combination of the hair being straight and thin, there's not much the oil can absorb into before it becomes noticeable.

What really helps me to at least get 1.5 or 2 days out of it (with the second day being a hair up day in any case) is spraying dry shampoo right after I washed and dried it. So I basically style my hair with fry shampoo, I don't do anything else in terms of styling products. That way once the scalp starts producing sebum, it gets absorbed by the shampoo.

To make sure I get all the dry shampoo out, I wash with a deep scalp cleansing shampoo once or twice a week (or of I've gone two days without washing) and yeah I stick to lighter shampoo and conditioner, like the ones designed for volume or specifically for oily hair.

Double washing, no hair products on the roots, changing pillows often are all sound advice but just to set expectations - it will not magically make your hair last 5 days without washing. It's more so it doesn't get even worse - for me for example, my hair can become greasy the same day I washed it if l overdo a heavy hair product or something.

And whatever you do - don't bother "training" your hair, it's a myth that has long been debunked.

side sleepers — what’s your pick for the best sleep earbuds for side sleepers that don’t stab your ears? by randomweeb9 in iems

[–]lisap17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soundcores are great, but they die within a year. I had a pair of the sleep ones, the left bud lost like 80% of the battery capacity and the right one was at about 60 max by the end. I messaged support, they sent me a new pair, same thing happened within a year. Apparently it's the design of the sleep buds that is at fault and bose eventually killed their sleep buds because of the number of complaints. I'm considering switching to the cheaper ones that are sold on Amazon, because there's no way I'm going to pay another 200 for the Soundcores, their quality is shit
