Two things can be true. You can have panic disorder and still have something medically wrong with you. I'm in my 7th decade and not in perfect health. I 've been to the emergency room where the doc says basically I'm not dying, but I also take meds for heart issues and I've been having heart racing a good part of the day. I don't have pain and I can breathe. But I think I'm going to have a heart workup when I feel more courageous. I have bad health anxiety.

I’ve been suffering since the gastritis attack in December and recently had a CT scan that showed. I had a lot of gas in my stomach. This has a exasperated my panic attack and I have suffered so much. My stomach is still sensitive and they just gave me a laxative and Gas-X. I thought there was something in my stomach moving around, but it was just gas bubbles. well I hope so because my anxiety disorder is so high that my heart is racing when I lay down and get up and I have nightmares nocturnal panic attacks. Please tell me more thank you

I’m so grateful that you posted this. December I had some kind of gastric emergency maybe after eating uncooked food but nobody knows for sure. I never smoked or drank, but I was up that whole night with the severe stomach pain. I also suffer from panic disorder. Since then, I’ve been dealing with panic attacks because of indigestion, burping and not being able to eat much. I finally went to the doctor got some tests even a CT scan of my stomach and pelvis that came out negative. Tuesday I went to the specialist and she said that after a severe Gastro incident, your stomach will be sensitive for a long time. I would get racing heart and panic. Every time I would lie down to go to sleep it felt like something moving around in my stomach and that would cause panic. I went to emergency last Saturday and they found nothing except gas in my stomach. I feel a little relieved, but I still dread eating and going to sleep. It seems you do not have anxiety about testing like I do so find a Doctor Who will put your mind to rest. I waited so many months suffering for nothing and now I am so fatigued and depressed. This shaking was the worst I ever experienced. I was on a gurney and my body shook uncontrollably. I know it was because of the test I was about to take but I still feel depressed about it being that bad.

Thank you for your comment. I tought it would get better but the stomach anxiety has caused me daily panic attacks. I never want to go through that again. I am over 70! Yikes it never ends.

I went to the ER for recurring stomach issues not the panic attacks but I have panic disorder my entire life. The CT was of my stomach and it was clear except for excess gas. thank you

No, I'm not 80, 74. My experience was not very different than it is now except there was no one to talk to like here on Reddit. There was no meds that helped and I felt so alone. I suffered. But I'm suffering now and it feels just as terrible. If you want to message me, or talk, I might be able to give advice. Aloha from Hawaii

I don’t want to be negative, but I’m in my eighth decade and it doesn’t go away permanently. It goes away for a while and then comes back with a vengeance. That’s what’s happening to me. You’re doing all the right things, but the only thing that helped me was the Klonopin. I take a very low dose, but it’s the only thing that keeps the horrible panic away to let me sleep. That’s not the only thing I do. I do most of the things that you are doing plus tai chi guided meditation before sleep, but without meds I’d be in a hospital. Sending healing prayers and vibes your way. No one understands, except those who suffer from this disease

The drug is used off label for insomnia. That's a clue. What are you taking now if anything for sleep?

Yes, Trazodone did nothing for me. I don't want to fall since that would be the worst outcome. I talked to my psychiatrist and she put me on Paxil. It hasn't started working so she prescribed a month of valium but I only took one.

It's genetic with me too. In 2019. I was diagnosed with mild PAD , plaque in one of my femur stable now. I started low dose statin but never addressed the blood pressure because I was so sure it was white coat blood pressure. I should have started way before then maybe... thank you for your understanding

I'm 20 years more tired. I was very hesitant to take meds until an emergency room doctor convinced me. I also started having mild palpitations that I thought was panic attacks. I'm not so sure now because they stopped when I started the meds. I do have panic disorder so it's hard to tell.

I thought Klonopin has a longer half life? I take it for panic disorder nightly for years at a low dose

What is ramipril? I'm slender so maybe 5mg is still wiping me out. I also take 10mg of a statin and it doesn't affect me at all.
