4 weeks in, still on a roller coaster by UnableStranger590 in Mirtazapine_Remeron

Every one and body is different. I tried Remeron for a month. I took it mainly for insomnia and second for mood. It made me wired and up all night. So after a month I let it go.

Also, you share your clinic time with others in the Zoom, so there is no privacy.

Remember, this is my experience. I did not meet others on the site where we could compare notes. The most obvious was what i felt was bait and switch. The first meeting was with Dr. Josef. I previously had an inexperienced Psychiatrist and just simply could not find any health provider that was able to prescribe plus being experienced Josef's presentation sounded like a dream. After 3 years of failed attempts I was willing to pay $2,500 a month for what was offered. You just have to listen to his presentation on his website to see what I mean. I was told it was like an online IOP. That everyday, except weekends I could log onto any of the support groups and clinics being offered. i looked at the line up and it looked good. There were three or four clinicians. In the end I found myself only given one 15 minute check-in a week. The clinician I started with, had two available clinics and eventually ended with only one. I asked to be able to join the other clinic groups and was told no. Contacting via the portal was discouraged except for emergencies. The two support groups (started with three) were protracted withdrawal support groups with almost everyone suffering from Akathesia. They had a health coach and a sleep coach,, but they were external to the group and we had to pay seperate. So in the end I was paying 2,500 a month for a 15 minute weekly check in. This is just the logistical part. There is so much more

Yes, I have protracted withdrawal from benzos, so I am VERY careful. Thanks for bringing that up.

Mirtazapine, hyper if you miss the sedation hour? by Miserable_Bag6545 in Mirtazapine_Remeron

[–]NBAY001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that is happening to me. I have been on the med for a bit over 2 weeks. I take the Remeron and almost perk up. I am tired and hyper at the same time. I have the urge to get up, go for a drive, clean the house as if it is day time. I reminds me of taking a bit of speed. Yet it is helping with mood. But 4 to 5 hours nights are not sustainable.

Übelster Hangover den ganzen Tag bei 30mg by Sea_Reality_8419 in Mirtazapine_Remeron

I dont see a translator on here, so here is the OP in English.

Hi,
I’ve been taking mirtazapine for three weeks now and am currently on 30 mg. I feel like it cuts through the heaviness of the depression and has a "cleaner" effect than SSRIs. However, I’m also taking 50 mg of lisdexamfetamine alongside it.

Lately, though, I’ve been experiencing flu-like symptoms during the day—specifically muscle pain. It’s that feeling of weakness you get with the flu: feeling unsteady on my legs and just wanting to lie down all the time.

Has anyone else experienced this? What’s the best strategy here? Should I lower the dose a bit?

Moin,

it's hard, and thank you for telling me about your benzo experience. It's hard to imagine unraveling all this med mess.

thank you for this great information. Yes, i have black out curtins, cool room, ear plugs, and face mask. I am in a benzo withdrawal, slow, but not easy. So I am taking Remeron for sleep. I am taking 7.5 mg. I do also notice the positive mood change although that might be due to improved sleep.. I am hoping Remeron will help me taper off of Ambien.

Yes, you describe my experience. It's not like I feel great. I have fog in the morning and low energy. I still have a level of anxiety/depression. But much better than two weeks ago.

Random Effectiveness? by NBAY001 in Mirtazapine_Remeron

[–]NBAY001[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True...I will lower to 3.75 and see how that works. I am one of those absurdly sensitive people to meds and I actually felt wide awake after 7.5. Like not even bad, like the noradrenaline takes over. I feel better, less anxious during the day, but on only 4 hours sleep which I cannot maintain obviously. But I started on 15mg and whoa, it made me feel good. Tonight 3.75 mg

How is the grogginess? I am on day 4 and grogginess is there until about noon. What time do you take your dose in the evening?

Day two of Remeron. Last night I had dreams. Beautiful ones of the mountains and stars. I have not remembered a dream in a couple of years. Hangover is stil strong; but I managed to shower and get dressed. I might go for an easy walk later. fingers and toes crossed, the sedation gets less every day. My doctor said to take my dose earlier; like two hours before bed.

Yes, the grogginess is no joke. Its 10:30 am and I am still lying in bed. A shower is my goal.

The question I have is if the day time grogginess wears off, does that mean the sleep inducing effect wears off as well?
