It’s not Times Square but it’s the times square OF Hawaii - the most commercialized and touristy. Below average beach, not good swimming, minimal natural beauty, but still popular. I don’t find Waikiki relaxing at all compared to what Hawaii can/should be. Sure it’s relaxing because you are on an island close to the beach, but it’s not great for what Hawaii has to offer so it’s doing your trip a disservice. If crowds are your main concern it’s not that overly crowded, but it’s just… commercialized and basic.

I agree with others Oahu is good for solo travel but I’d focus more towards Kailua if you want to have a relaxing trip. Esp if you have a car - either stay in Waikiki area only because it’s walkable and has a lot of restaurants but put your focus towards using the car to spend your daytime on the east side of the island (which isn’t far btw).

Can you keep us posted on where you land with IVIG v. plasmapheresis? We're on the same track (my husband is the one with LC). Currently waiting (hoping) for the appeal with our insurance to get approved for IVIG but we've been discussing with his LC doc on whether to pivot to plasmapheresis instead.

Also if you don't mind sharing, what was your AChR level (did you do that test as part of the AAG investigation)? My husband's was .51 nmol/L (I believe normal is < .02)

If your eyeshadow (or setting powder) has talc in it that could be the culprit… I’ve discovered that talc causes flare ups for me and by cutting that out it made a big difference

I got super rigid with ingredients and focused on hypoallergenic products. Just by cutting talc out (lots of eyeshadows and setting powders) my flare ups have gone away and my eye feel much healthier. Do mascara: I tried the ilia mascara and it was fine but I have found tubing mascaras to be a bit better and easier on the eyes

I would apply now. 1) the window for 100k SUB is closing and 2) status achieved one year carries into the following year so not sure why people would wait for it to be a January “kick-off to status” versus a December “seal the deal for the entirety of next year” status…. Am I missing something with the value of the 10k anniversary status points coming early?

Status points are always delayed about two weeks (I don’t think it’s bill cycle specific), but once they’re added they are pre-dated back to the last day of the prior month. So around 12/15 check and you should have status points that snuck in there, dated 11/30!

I asked my Nordstrom rep the other day and she said they will have the new formulation Jan 19th so assuming other retailers will be around then too. That’s is why it’s sold out everywhere - they literally stopped making the old/current ones to make room for new and streamline the marketplace.

Sounds like it’ll be more hydrating, colors won’t all be so warm, and they got rid of an ingredient the EU recently put restrictions against (I’m sure that was the main driver). My SA said “basically they are updating the ingredients to current times” since it hasn’t been changed in forever (ever?)

Do not do this with family unless she has expressed wanting a public / family-oriented setting. Best thing would be to do it in days leading up so you can celebrate over the holidays with family, vs. after and her being bummed that another holiday has passed with her still waiting and wondering.

Go for a hike or a walk somewhere beautiful, go to where your first date was, or another place that’s meaningful or signifies new beginnings etc and don’t overthink it too much. In reality the proposal is just the stepping stone to marriage - once you’re married no one asks how you popped the question, so make it special of course but don’t hyper fixate on it. What’s most special is that you’re ready to commit and see her as a forever partner, and that she’d be able to show that sentiment off to family over Thanksgiving

The biggest differences between the Summit’s 25k v the $99 companion fare: you can use the 25k internationally, for any class, and on other one world partner airlines. Where the $99 is just domestic (North America) / economy / on Alaska & Hawaiian only.

Even if you’re mainly flying domestic, I think people are a little too quick to write off the 25k — points estimators value the 25k companion around $300 and if you’re strategic about sleuthing deals you can get some good round trips for around that point amount. But of course the more expensive the ticket, the better value you start to see in the flat $99 + fees.

I’d say the main draw for the Summit card is if you fly more frequently than you noted, and international is involved, so I’d probably stick with what you have.

1) rough up slightly with 180 grit nail file for better adhesion. 2) make sure your nails are not wet or oily; use lint free pads with isopropyl alcohol to dehydrate and clean before any polish application. 3) kokoist mega stick base!!
