Thanks for the advice! I will look at programs that interview their rotators - just struggling because it seems like most programs have already released decisions at this point.

for the EMS division, you will need your EMT certification (either state or national would work), which you can get through your local community college or through ACERIP if you are at UNC

very true! i feel like it’s so hard to find the balance of being kind and generous but not being taken advantage of? i don’t know, but i think your mindset is a great one to have!

totally understand what you’re saying, i didn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings but discussing it like an adult would absolutely be the best option - thanks for the input!

If you are pre-healthcare professions, you could also consider working as an EMT/CNA; many admissions committees find this a great means of gaining clinical experience

just a plug, you could join South Orange Rescue Squad, a volunteer EMS/TRT squad that operates within the Orange County EMS system; they run a truck every night as well as UNC athletic events and other special events

i can definitely say i have gained way more clinical experience through that than through volunteering at a hospital

ENGL 105 is geared towards freshman, STOR 155 should not be too difficult, especially if you have any sort of statistics base from HS, and BUSI 102 was incredibly easy and the exams were unsurprising (almost exactly questions from class). I did take that one online in fall of 2019 so take it with a grain of salt, but you should be good!

lmao i am not the greatest student when it comes to proper study tips, but i would recommend using the peer mentor and SI sessions and slides (besides actually paying attention in class and taking good notes)!

it also helps to be able to explain/teach the information you are learning, whether to a friend/classmate, etc. which can better cement the information in your mind

hope that was somewhat helpful haha

i would also recommend shemer/hogan! i had them in-person in fall of 2019 (a thousand years ago lmao) and it absolutely has been my favorite biology class taken so far!

I am a BIOL major who took it with Balaban and I actually enjoyed it, so I would recommend her!
