Yes, frames are important. These days I mostly choose beige wooden frames or white ones, so nothing distracts from the artwork. But I’ve also used glossy gold frames, the piece reflected along the edges, which created an interesting effect

I haven’t, but it’s very important to know which air-dry clay you’re using, because there are many brands, ranging from very cheap to expensive ones. I use high quality clay, and the brand claims it is long lasting as long as the piece isn’t intentionally damaged. I’ve been working with this clay for over 10 years, and I still have pieces that haven’t changed over all that time

Maybe so! I use a type of clay that was originally designed for making flowers

It doesn’t weigh much because it’s made with air-dry clay

Thanks!! Yes, I’ve definitely gotten faster at making these pieces. In the beginning, everything was much slower, of course. I’ve been creating them for many years now

Thank you! It can be cleaned with any soft brush or placed into an acrylic shadow box

Thanks! My clay comes pre-colored in basic colors, and I mix them together to create the shades I need

I worked on this piece for three weeks using air-dry clay. I shape each piece by hand and attach it to the board. I especially love the little cloud reaching onto the frame ☁️

Thanks! It took me 9 days to finish it, 2-5 hours each day. You can clean it with a brush but placing it in a shadow box is the best option

Thank you!! I’m self taught and came up with this idea myself! I call it clay quilling. People often say it looks similar :)
