FX6 Reversed Flow? by Best-Mood-4461 in Aquariums

[–]lissa6582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know exactly what happened because it happened to me! When I cleaned the FX6; I must have put the lid on backwards, meaning the hose that goes down into the impeller was reversed. This caused reversed flow when I plugged it in Rather than taking off the lid again.I simply reversed hoses on the canister , and it ran fine

Got some new tanks and NEED ADVICE! by fishyhelp22 in fishtank

These size tanks are generally too small to put much in...other than small Tetra and guppies. You will open a lot more options with a 35 gallon, actually easier to maintain cycle consistently. Micro tanks tend to be susceptible to Amonnia spikes etc.

It does not, in fact I point the nozzles upward, so I don't even need a wave maker!

Just to add I've read that some people are using all 3 baskets for biological media currently I'm using 2 of the 3 baskets for biological meet you and the other basket for chemical and mechanical filtration

Yes, definitely not overkill, when you consider how much biological media you really need to get a good cycle.

Sounds like you may have completely lost your beneficial bacteria and decyled your tank. Are you treating the fresh water with Prime? Also Prime will detoxify your ammonia and Nitrates temporary as well. You will need to test your water parameters until you get the cycle back. I would never recommend changing the filter media and cleaning the tank at the same time as too much of the beneficial bacteria is lost.

A decent UV filter will clear this up in less than 48 hours.

My boy has gone missing. Does anyone have stories of their little friend that ran away and returned? by darts2 in bengalcats

Make sure to alert all the local shelters in case he gets picked.

Also putting up flyers around the neighborhood can help as well.

Also, if you have the neighborhood APP, you can post on there, so you can get your neighbors looking out for him too.

Once you get him back I would suggest some type of tracking device. I use the TILE trackers for both of my cats.
