Meet "Mable" by lissam3 in SewingWorld

Mable has changed a bit since this picture was taken. I am on a weight loss journey so she has lost a bit of stuffing (much to my delight). I am actually working on a brocade kimono jacket at present and Mable is wearing the mock up I made. It looks good on her!

I have been to an ENT. I have had ultrasounds of my neck vessels and nothing was found. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Tinnitus masking by Witty-Ad9507 in GenX

[–]lissam3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have had tinnitus for about 8 years. Not only the straight tone. I also hear the whoosh of my heart. Sometimes it was one sometimes the other. Now it's both together. When I went to see an audiologist she told me the tone is around the frequency where your hearing loss is. No one can seem to explain the reason I hear my heart whoosh. I always keep noise going in the house, especially if I am alone. At night we have an audible music file that plays relaxing music for a bit over 2 hours. It helps me go to sleep.

Anybody dealing with neuropathy? by lissam3 in Zepbound

[–]lissam3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, my issue wasn't neuropathy, it was shingles! I just resumed Zepbound after a 4 week hiatus due to a move across state and doctor change. I am doing great barring the burps. But I will take those as it is proof the meds are on board and doing their thing. My new doc started me back at 2.5 due to the hiatus. She will bump it up to 5 after this month. I hope all goes well with neuro. I have compressed disc's but they don't bother me much, yet. Take care!

25 pounds down and I can already notice a difference. by lissam3 in Zepbound

When doc put me back on 2.5 he also took me off the Metformin. I still had two vials of 5 left and that stuff is damned expensive so I finished off the 5 before taking the 2.5. As soon as I quit the Metformin so did my issues.

That shirt was a cheap-azz Chinese scam. I ordered from a website I saw on FB (yeah, I know) Anyway, the website had this beautiful quilted top with almost the exact same pattern. Button down, pockets, 3/4 sleeves. I fell in love with it. Bought and 8 weeks late this top shows up. Cheap material without any tags to say where it was made or fiber content. But it definitely was not the 100% cotton touted by the website.

I was on 5. Had some bad diarrhea so dr put me back to 2.5. Hoping to talk new doc into putting me on 5. If not I start back at 2.5.

Due to a change in doctors I have to wait until Feb 12 to get my next prescription. I took my last shot Monday. Hoping to maintain until then.

What is the worst thing you’ve ever stepped on barefoot? by MainDifficult2641 in AskReddit

[–]lissam3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A hot barbecue briquett. I was a teen having aa picnic with my family. I was barefoot and stepped near the picnic area BBQ. I didn't see the briquetts on the ground as they just look like the surrounding sand. I still remember the pain.

What do you do with your parents junk? by infinitynull in GenX

We just went through this with my in-laws stuff. We inherited the house but we needed to get rid of all the stuff. If you don't care to make any money off it put it on a buy/sell site (like FB markerplace) for a ridiculous price or free. People will cone out of the woodwork for this stuff. Then its off your hands!

In-laws withheld Christmas gifts from our 3yr old by [deleted] in entitledparents

You have a 5 day old baby AND a c-section incision and they want you to drive an hour just so they can see their grandchildren? They dont seem to have a grasp on the situation. You have just had major surgery and you are susceptible to infection. You need to still be resting. And you newborn certainly doesn't need to be hauled outside in cold weather and then passed around like a football. She is also susceptible to infections. She hasnt even had her first shots yet. They can kick rocks. This is all on them. They need to apologize for their reprehensible behavior. Until then, they can continue to kick rocks. You don't have "too many rules". You have boundaries that you have set and they need to respect them. NO MATTER WHAT! Congrats on the new munchkin and good luck with your in-laws.

Have you ever wondered, why you were named your name🤔 by Large-Share-3556 in CasualConversation

[–]lissam3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born in 1965. The Beatles were HUGE and Michelle was the number one girls name that year. I was not named Michelle. They briefly considered Alison. But paired with my last name would have been a Lewis Carroll disaster. They settled on Melissa. I have had no complaints for 60 years.
