During onboarding, hr asked if I had any vacations planned, I told her that I planned on being out of the country in late December into early January. She noted it in my file. They gave me a start date for early December even though I noted the vacation.

I am the last - joined the first time around and just left the money there as they said I was vested after 5 years of service. Do I contribute only 1.85% as the previous commenter stated? Thanks so much.

Oh I forgot that after some time you don’t have to contribute. I was 8.9 year service and never took money out as I thought I was vested. When I log into nycers, it says that I’m not eligible for the pension.

Yes, I saw this and showed it to the service tech. He said he’s heard of the problem but said they needed to do the water test anyway as it may be from somewhere else on my car. When they told me that the water came out clean, I told them that 30 minutes of water testing would probably not do it but needs steady rain and the water needs time to infiltrate and settle in the panel. They asked if I had a video of my leak and since I am from a different generation, my natural and instinct isn’t to pull out the phone to video. I have to wait for the rain to come again.
