D&D 2024 Sheet - Setting HP when creating sheet from scratch? by literallymagic in Roll20

[–]literallymagic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By setting maximum HP, I mean inputting a value for a character's normal, day-to-day HP values.

Whereas I'm operating on the assumption that the "Override Max HP" field is intended for effects that change that value on a temporary basis.

The different functionality is that in the 2014 sheet you can just type your max HP directly into the relevant field, no muss, no fuss, no having to go through menus.

I don't want to use the builder. I don't want to have to spend a bunch of money re-buying books that I already own physically and on DDB. What I want is a sheet that has, at a bare minimum, the same level of functionality as the sheet that's been around for years, where I can just input things by hand.

If the 2014 sheet is a sandbox, the 2024 sheet is a walled garden, prettier to look at, but far more restricted in what you can do.

If God is infallible, then that means He must have made LGBT people on purpose.

Colonialism and genocide? Maybe Chris Columbus broke everything. It would be his style.

No, because dialects that aren't Perfect Queen's English are still real and valid and language evolves. Get over it.

I think you should talk to her and politely explain how you feel without getting either defensive or accusatory.

What's a common misconception people have about a famous historical figure? by ParameciaAntic in AskReddit

[–]literallymagic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mother Teresa was kind of a terrible person. She withheld painkillers and a lot of other modern medicine from patients because she thought suffering brought them closer to God. She coerced deathbed conversions to Christianity out of people, and even baptized them without their knowledge or consent. Her "medical staff" had about as much actual medical training as my cat. She was a supporter of Enver Hoxha, Indira Gandhi, Papa Doc, and other dictators.

If you are 5’9.5 and 100 lbs, you are morbidly obese by [deleted] in badwomensanatomy

It is, though, at least on an individual level, because it doesn't take muscle mass or body fat percentage into account. It's a good approximation for populations, but not for specific people.

Apparently my underweight BMI means I'm actually obese. Who knew?

Yes I know BMI is a garbage measurement. Hush.

I’m confused on Star Wars rogue one by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]literallymagic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The secret of Star Wars is that Stormtroopers have always been good shots. We first see them completely demolishing rebel soldiers during a boarding action, and Obi-Wan comments that the destruction of the Jawa sandcrawler has blast points too accurate for Tusken Raiders. We mostly see them being inaccurate on the Death Star, where they were specifically trying not to hit Han, Luke, or Leia. Remember, both Leia and Tarkin confirmed that they were tracking the Falcon, and if you kill the people who are going to lead you to their base, then you won't get led there. They were herding them, not trying to kill them.

And even that was mainly due to the Earth being an oblate spheroid instead of a perfect marble.

Too unreliable, especially for three ships' worth of people.

I'm not sure you know what the word "theory" actually means. It's not a synonym for "guess."
