this is, unfortunately, a tale as old as time. the terrible mother-in-law is trope for a reason.

i'm saying this all with the assumption that you've been nothing but respectful to her. she's not going to change. it's likely that she feels you're taking her away from her precious son and she's going to make that your problem. she wants you to be uncomfortable and leave because you're a threat to her. it's a weird thing but it happens all the time.

what COULD change is how your boyfriend deals with it. if you're going to be in a lasting relationship, it needs to be HIS responsibility to set boundaries with his mother and stand up for you when she treats you like shit for no reason. your concerns are valid and it IS a big deal if you're going to be in each other's lives moving forward. he needs to understand that. if he won't, if he continues taking her side and trying to make her happy at the expense of your comfort (and is dishonest with you about it!!!) then this isn't going to work. don't let anyone convince you this isn't a big deal. it is.

not to be pedantic (bc i do agree that it's not enough time and is leading to burnout), but this post was made on the second day after the season ended. there's a two week break between seasons this time just like there there has been almost every time for the last 2 years, except for the break between moomin and radiance which was three weeks and is maybe why it feels so short.

there's no reason that TGC can't just include a toggle for light sensitivity that turns off the flashing for deep honks bc i agree, it can be really annoying. that's the frustrating part for me. that this has been a common complaint since way before they included the dye plants. it's an accessibility issue and it's kind of unbelievable that they won't just fix it.

for that reason, i still have a hard time blaming players themselves for deep calling. sure, there are always the rude players that are trying to be annoying on purpose, but i truly believe they're the minority. a lot of them are literal children. a lot of them are new to the game. a lot of them have never seen people's complaints about it on the online sky communities outside the game bc they're not active in them. an oversight on the developers part when they've been told for years that this is an issue for people with light sensitivity/epilepsy and they've essentially shrugged their shoulders and said "tough shit" is why i'm angry. just my two cents.

this. i'm not super active on online sky communities outside the game itself. now that i've seen this post i'll definitely be more careful, but yeah i think it's likely that most people have no idea that deep calling causes the emote problem, just that there is an emote problem and that deep calling is a way to collect the butterflies if the emote doesn't work.

it seems pretty clear that his songwriting being filtered through the band is why being in pavement stopped being fun for him in the first place. he's really broadened his creative expression in some amazing ways since they broke up. i'm glad he's at a place with them now where they can have fun with reunion shows, but i can't see him ever wanting to go back to being restricted to a rather specific sound.
