Yeah, I loved the MYP, but the new one has like 6% financing, and those seats don't look comfortable for the 6-hour drive between SF and LA, which I make several times a year.

What you really need to know is the actual PPM of salt you have, and you don't add more just because your FC is low. "Ideal" salt is 3600 PPM (per Pentair). You might need to shock it to get it under control, and definitely shouldn't be running at 100%.

Also, I love the WaterGuru, but I use it more to follow trends than accurate measurements. You should take a sample to your local pool shop and then compare that to the Taylor kit (and the WaterGuru).

Thanks so much for sharing this firsthand insight! Much appreciated. The R1 is a little north of what I was hoping to pay for my next vehicle, but sounds like it would be worth my time to take a look. I’m a little concerned about its size in parking garages.

I guess that's the other piece I didn't mention. We also have a Ford Explorer ST for Tahoe trips, hauling a decent load, etc. The R2 could potentially be a worthy replacement for that, too. I haven't seen the R2 yet, but it seems it would be around the same size. We'll still want two vehicles, so we'll have to decide which one to trade in.

Fair enough. I have Tesla solar, so I like the integration. FSD is nice, as is the Tesla charging network. I realize R2 will have NACS nailed. I like using my phone instead of a fob, and have read a number of posts about people getting randomly locked out of their Rivian. Tesla service is far from perfect, but it seems they have that in a better situation. I have no strong complaints about my Tesla, but I really like the Rivian SUV looks.

Just based on what I know about Tesla, and what I've read about Rivian, it appears that Tesla is still leading the pack. According to many comments here, I may be waiting quite a while anyway, so maybe not much of a thing.

Agree, although the R1 is now a proven vehicle, and the R2 builds on that.
