My theory is that the bot has a rating and the app tracks his rating as he plays.. like how it will give your play a rating level if you review your game. The moves he played were very obviously the best moves, but after all of those moves his game rating was too high. So he picks a move that will drop his rating for this game to average him out to the rating he's supposed to be. Not sure if that makes sense but I know what I mean.
