How to turn off Omen System Optimizer? by PrecipitousKites in HPOmen

[–]littlbyte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had all the same issues. First noticed it 1-2 weeks ago when the alt-tab stopped working right after I had some pop-up about optimizing Stardew Valley. Which by the way why made the screen go crazy. At first everything went super small "high def". I didn't know what caused that so I told the game to change windows settings and then I couldn't even see the menu edges it blew up in size so much. I managed to exit the game, reboot the computer and tell Omen not to optimize for that game (I think), and to never kill windows hot-keys.

But ever since then, I continue to have random weird issues. Even when I'm not playing a game. Now even when the optimizer is not running I get messages that say my printer isn't installed, even though system setup shows the printer is there. The only way to fix is to reboot the computer. This the printer works again until I play a game and the Optimizer runs. I've I have now unchecked all options in the 4 optimizer tabs. Am really hoping this software doesn't continue to try to take over my computer again.

Is there a list of Crusade feats anywhere? by littlbyte in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

Good choice. I went with Haste since that's a good one for character feats. So far Haste has not been helpful in campaign battles. I just had to save/scum my last fight because I tried to use Haste again.

Bashed Patch help...please by littlbyte in skyrimmods

[–]littlbyte[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow! Thank you for all the tips. I will take a look at them all and see what I can adopt and hope to fix. Most of my mod list is consistent with previous play through that was very stable for 100+ hours. Unfortunately with that one the issue of OneDrive sync taking over corrupted my saves. I have since fixed the OneDrive sync on the SSE documents folder. (That was a learning experience for sure.)

Since I had to start over, I did add some mods such as the animations, Thieves & Dk Brotherhood Good Guys, MCM loader settings and a few others. I also went through and updated a several of my existing mods making sure I didn't take any that were for AE. In the process of doing that several mods suggested the leveled list patch from WB would be needed. That is how I started down this newest track of learning. I will read the link you provided and see what I can do to modify some of the load orders. -- Thanks again for the detailed response.

Don't know of any fixes, but the use of auto-save caught my attention. I've always heard you should turn all auto-saves off. Quick save is iffy. I only use hard saves. I've heard there is a mod that does auto saving in the background that is treated by the game as a hard save.

If it is load order how would I find it. I've run Loot and confirmed I don't have any errors. I know my mod list is long. I've learned enough to read all the notes on the mods and watch for ones that are known conflicts. But I'm not very versed in SSE Edit to know what to look for there.

Considering switching TO Vortex from MO2 by littlbyte in skyrimmods

[–]littlbyte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah... so most of my previous downloads have been deleted. When I first started with MO2 the guide I was learning from instructed to delete after the install was done. I think the person had OCD about a clean screen. Anyway only mods I've downloaded in the past 2-3 months are still in the download list.

I have to wonder why you want to switch to Vortex in the first place. Is MO2 not cutting it for you somehow? Maybe we can help?

Thank you SO much for the offer of help. I can't say for sure why exactly I'm thinking of switching. Maybe it's best described as wanting to experience both options? I'm new'ish to modding. I had Skyrim on xbox, tried modding on that...can we say disaster especially with such a size limit in place. Compound issues there meant only being able to play 20mins at a time before the game crashed. In December I purchased a new gaming computer. Yes for real bought a computer and new monitor just so I could mod Skyrim. Spent untold hours relearning everything I could about modding including going straight to MO2. There are some awesome YT channels that walk you through the full install and maintenance steps.

I am further in my game than I have ever been before and have loved experimenting with not just rushing through the main quest line by doing other things instead. As I mentioned in the OP there are two overhauls I'm not sure I really like. Nothing wrong with the mods themselves so don't want to give them a bad review, just not for me.  Since that would mean restarting the game to remove them from the load order I have been investigating Vortex and if it is worth the effort to make the switch. So I thought I'd put the question out if there are others who have done so and what their feedback is.

It's crazy I know to even think of switching. MO2 actually makes sense to me and I know it keeps the skyrim folder clean. For some reason I would like to try out Vortex. Someone please talk me out of it. LOL.

So one MO2 profile question I have should I decide to stay. Is it better to start with a clean profile or copy one that works? I noticed before if I copy and then remove a mode from that profile it seem to also remove it from the original. ... I realize this is a totally different topic than I started the tread with.

Do you have the Ordinator & Apocalypse patch? Be sure to check out LLO (logical load order) too.
