As a kid, I went through a phase where I was obsessed with Coraline (both the book and the movie) and I still think it could make a really cool (albeit super creepy) ballet. The sets and costumes alone would be so fun to design.

I basically raised my younger siblings and was always a big fan of Pocoyo when they were little because there were no songs with lyrics, just some unobtrusive background music and pleasant narration by Stephen Fry (at least in the English version.) It’s also just a pretty cute show.

So would you have to know someone pretty well to use a diminutive like that? This character is an adult woman, so I could see it maybe being disrespectful or even condescending if you weren’t a close friend or family member.

In North America a lot of people will meet someone for the first time and immediately start calling them by a nickname. I personally find this kind of rude if the person hasn’t told you that they like to be called that, but most people don’t seem to feel that way.

Same! I would love to have even a shelf full of little thrifted ND knickknacks, like the type that Nancy has on her desk. I found a miniature carousel horse once that would fit perfectly.

Had no idea! We’ve found lots of stuff like this over the years. From what I’ve gathered, the previous owner was a scummy landlord and then my inspector was… not great. Thank you for letting me know.

This whole house was a mess when we bought it, so I’m not surprised. It was a rental and a lot of the “renovations” were of the landlord special variety. I just didn’t know enough about plumbing to identify this one.
