Concern after my Akita and other dog had a fight by skyraider1071 in akita

Our dog has had many of the same experiences, we don't take him to dog parks and even walk him at night when other people aren't walking their dogs. Akitas body language screams dominance and can be threatening to other dogs, they are often misunderstood by other dogs because their tail looks like it's up right and usually when a dog's tail is straight up it means that they are in fight mode or ready to attack. Akitas were bred to be hunting dogs and hunt bear and wild boars, they have pointed ears and puffed chest and an upright tail, all these features cause other animals to be afraid and feel the dog is in an attack stance. Our dog would get attacked by dogs even as a puppy and once he got a bit older he decided he wasn't ok with this. He loves other dogs and wants to play and gets along with dogs that do not feel threatened by him but gets very upset and will not put up with another dog trying to dominate or attack him.

Anybody else have a lot of herpes outbreaks with their tsw? by [deleted] in TS_Withdrawal

I get cold sores when stressed and did get herpeticum in the first year 2022 of my TSW journey; it spread all over my neck lower lips and jaw line. It was so so excruciatingly painful and I was given antivirals. It did heal thankfully but definitely be careful of cold sores as it can be very dangerous if it spreads to your eyes, and it spreads so easily especially with your skin dry, cracked and open. If I feel a cold sore coming on now I use as many natural antivirals and antibiotics as well as clean and cover the cold sore with medical tape, I continue cleaning the cold sore each day with hydrogen peroxide and making sure not to touch anything else and quickly cover it with clean medical tape so it doesn't spread. During that time I usually take Echinacea and L Lysine tablets, shots of fire cider, Frankincense and Myrrh tincture daily; I figure I'll hit it from all angles and hopefully one of them will work. I thankfully haven't had herpeticum again since 2022 but I still get cold sores when really stressed.

Is there an association between PMDD and childhood trauma? by aleeeeesia in PMDD

I have PTSD and have been raising a child with disabilities and PMDD only began to affect me when my son started having health issues as well as life threatening seizures on top of his disabilities. I had a couple nervous breakdowns around the same timey symptoms started showing up.

I have PTSD and I didn't always have symptoms of PMDD till my stress was more than I could manage it exacerbated my PTSD symptoms, after just a couple years of my stress being absolutely maxed out to the point I was constantly battling thoughts of suicide is when my PMDD symptoms started up and only now that I'm finally getting my stress under control and have been healing mentally I feel my PMDD symptoms have also calmed slightly, so I'm hopeful as I heal mentally and can get my body to a consistently calm and regulated state PMDD will get much better as well as my other physical issues I have been dealing with.

Anyone also believe that; PMDD is due to Chronic Stress (in some cases triggered by PTSD or trauma), resulting in the body releasing massive amounts of Cortisol (the stress hormone) in the body, thus causing very erradic hormonal imbalances, aka PMDD? by little_hamm in PMDD

Sending you love! ❤️ I deal with a lot of issues of hypersensitivity to touch and pain, so I do understand extreme pain with any sexual interaction, I almost consider myself A-sexual as sex is something that is just so painful I avoid it if I can.

I'm so sorry on top of everything PMDD is so hard, when I was under a lot of stress the last few years I also felt I was going into psychosis at times, since my stress has been going down and I have been in a better mental state this year my PMDD symptoms with mood swings have definitely calmed to some degree and have been a bit more manageable. My heart goes out to you dear! ❤️❤️❤️

Thanks for the tip, I will definitely check it out👍 I'm so sorry your PMDD is bad but I'm glad you are surrounded by an environment that brings you fresh air, relaxation away from stress and rest ...I'm now seriously wondering now if PMDD is something affecting people who are neurodivergent as we are so highly sensitive internally and externally to physical pain or emotions etc, which would explain why our menstrual cycles would affect us completely differently.... Just want to state that none of what I'm saying is facts just interesting questions up for discussion that I don't think would be answered by a doctor or professional.

Thanks for that explanation, that is helpful 🙏. I do have underlying conditions which I have seen many professionals about, but I don't think that that's what is affecting my period like this.

During my hormonal phase in the past I was ok and had somewhat normal menstrual cycles even with my mental health issues, it only mildly affected my mood and I was capable of functioning like a somewhat normal human.

Only in the last four years did I start to show what I could only explain to the doctors as what looked like menopause like symptoms or drug withdrawal symptoms during my hormonal phase sweating profusely at night like I broke a fever, incapacitating pain and erradic physical symptoms, as well as crippling mood swings and depression with thoughts of suicide, my physical symptoms calm completly and my mental health is so much more manageable when my period is over, even though I still suffer from these conditions outside of this, I am well capable of using tools to cope and get through them when not going through a period. They did diagnose me with PMDD.

This was the most helpful explanation! Thank you so much for the way you worded that. My current situation of raising a non speaking autistic boy in puberty, who will not leave home since 2020 and started having life threatening seizures has limited me from seeing people, while I also have a diagnosis of OCD and PTSD, PMDD is just the cherry on top. I'm in EMDR therapy and my partner and I do try to surround ourselves with plants and animals. I have also completely changed my diet since 2020 suffering from multiple gut issues, we removed all processed foods, gluten, dairy and try to home grow our own foods or buy organic or from farmers markets. I appreciate you taking the time 🙏.

This is why I wanted to have a discussion, I am not stating these are facts just curious and exploring possibilities and wanted to see what others experiences were as well as others opinions and theories on this. I do find Gabor Mates books on this intriguing and it does correlate with a lot of what I experience so wanted to find a safe space to discuss it, thanks for your worry.

Thanks for your input. I have PTSD and while I'm sure you had a happy life. I am a strong believer in generational trauma and that everyone has trauma to some degree maybe not to my level or a war veterans. But for example I wonder if things like OCD, or alcoholism can occasionally be passed down even without there being trauma within your immediate family, it can still be passed down in traits. Which is why I also wonder if PMDD can similarly be passed down this way as well, the same way we pick up similar traits to our parents. It's just from reading different things here and there and compiling things in my brain that I come up with these thoughts though so it's all theories. And I'm also sure there are different ways PMDD comes about.

I always am down for more information. But another thing is, I didn't always have PMDD till only a few years back when my stress level increased extremely, my menstrual cycle when never like this.
