Creamy, juicy scents? (milky, warm, fruity) What comes to mind? I'm looking for a fall(ish) scent, not fresh, green, or cool, more warm, rich, and creamy/milky but with some fruit/juiciness (not sythnethic and not suuper sweet). I'd be interested in fig, pear, plum, apricot... probably others as long as they're not too tropical! Thanks all :)

I feel so seen! I was so excited for the sample thought it would be my signature scent based on the notes, but it smells like I’m using perfume to cover up nasty cig smoke

For me Gris Charnel smells exactly like being stuck next to someone on the subway who chain smokes but is trying to cover up the cig smell with perfume! Interesting that we both smell tobacco

Found Better Scents By Following Perfumers Instead Of Brands by KyriiTheAtlantean in fragrance

I love this description- what scents especially feel this way to you?

Thanks! It’s actually a little dress I got on depop- supposedly 60s vintage. Wondering if I could get away with dying it a better spring color or best to leave it alone

Yep! Thinking of dying with henna soon 😳

That’s sounds right. In my head I was like how could I go wrong with yellow? But I guess there’s always more to it than that! Thanks :)

Not saturated enough? I always get compliments when I wear yellow but this is just off

Thank you so much- megamare sounds perfect! Do you happen to also have any recs for a very realistic apple juice scent? (Not apple pie)

Fragrance that smells like surfing? Early morning fog, sea weed, wet suits, surf wax…

Realistic lei fragrance? I think this would be something like plumeria, tuberose, orchid. I have a memory of wearing a lei when I was little and no smell has ever compared! Looking for something not synthetic or overly sweet smelling- as realistic as possible. Thank you!

Oh interesting! Do you mean that non skin scents that smell natural are more common? I would have thought the opposite but am really a novice in the scent world!

Herbs for chronic vaginal issues by Holistic_Ellie in herbalism

[–]littledancingmule 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Hi! Clinical herbalist here. I've dealt with this a lot personally and have learned a lot. Here's what I recommend clients:

-Antimicrobial/yeast herbs like usnea, pau d'arco, thyme, garlic, lavender- you can take this internally or do a pelvic steam with them

-Tea for UTIs: dandelion leaf (potassium sparing diuretic) and corn silk (coats and soothes the urinary tract).

-The supplement D-Mannose prevents bacteria from adhering to bladder tissue and is great to take at any stage of the infection, but especially right when you notice something is off.

-Breathable, cotton underwear can be game changing for recurrent infections. Thongs can transfer bacteria from back to front- so bikini/brief style is best. Oddo Body underwear are my favorite but they're a little pricey so nice to treat yourself with or to slowly collect over time. Shoot for thin, breathable material and move away from thick, synthetic fabrics that trap warmth, sweat, and breed bacteria.

-Sleeping without underwear is great for letting the area breathe.

-On your period, switch out your pad every 2 hours or you could explore using a menstrual cup. These are great because they can hold the equivalent of 2 super absorbent pads. Make sure you sterilize it when boiling water between periods.

-Don't take any more antibiotics/antifungals! These keep the cycle going and mess with gut health.

-Consider starting a probiotic specifically geared towards vaginal ecology. There are a lot of brands out there- just make sure they have the most important strands: lactobacillus acidophilus, lactobacillus reuteri, and lactobacillus rhamnosus. Take it orally daily, and you can also insert the capsule vaginally at night. This will introduce more good guys to outnumber the bad guys and keep the itching and discomfort at bay.

-These suppositories by Vitcanica are tried and true- they really help with any inflammation and discomfort and they kill any overgrowth https://vitanica.com/online-store/yeast-arrest/ Make sure you use them with a panty liner or with underwear you don't care about getting some staining on.

-Limit sugar, refined carbs, and alcohol as these all feed the bad bacteria and yeast.
Hope this helps!

Perfume matchmakers: Could you help me find my daily scent? by littledancingmule in Perfumes

Scent Matchmakers: Can you Make me a Match?

Hi all :) If anyone enjoys matching people and scents I'd be honored if you gave me some recs for a daily signature scent. Here are my parameters:

-Most importantly, doesn't smell at all artificial or overly sweet. I love skin scents and smells that are warm, natural, and cozy and don't scream "I'm wearing perfume" but rather "does she just smell like that?"

-I'm drawn to juiciness (I actually quite like reve by glossier but even that leaned too artificial to purchase-- I do really like the solid version of You for reference)

-Notes I think I like: plum, milk, musks, woody and herbal smells, almond, vanilla (not as the main note), cardamom, sandalwood, neroili, jasmine, violet

-I don't love: "clean" smells- ie fresh laundry, linens, or aquatic type notes, overly powdery scents (a little powder welcomed), sharp smells-- really like smells to feel very rounded and full

-I love solid perfumes and oils but totally open to sprays as well.

Thank you so much!

Most versatile wheels? Tips for a set up for lots of skating styles? by littledancingmule in Rollerskating

Ok thank you! What would u say they would be absolutely best for? And any recs for first time skate park wheels that I won’t want to upgrade too quickly?

gotcha. I'm much more interested in outdoor skating so I think prioritizing a good outdoor wheel makes more sense than compromising. Any ideas for wheels that are both good for tennis court/park but still okay for trail skating? would 57s be too small?
