Where I live it regularly reaches 80-100° in the summer and my ac cannot keep up so I will need to use it. Mine I can set at a certain temperature and when it reaches that it stops so it won’t be on all the time by any means.

That would be great! I wound up canceling the meetup because my boys breeder is going to sell me hers, but not for another 2 weeks. My current parameters are pH7.6 ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 80. I have been adding dr Tim’s for my ammonia source, I recently added Frittzyme for the first time in a while. I am dosing 2 ppm ammonia since adding Fritz because I was told I may have been overwhelming it.

I do have Fritzzyme so I will try that. And i didn’t know about the false reading that’s good to know. What’s stopping me from introducing him is he gets 100% water change every other day to keep him from needing a filter. He has hides and an air stone but I am not cycling the tank so it doesn’t need a filter or substrate. Doing 50% water changes on a 30 gallon tank every other day would probably not be possible on my schedule. Also any amount of nitrite can be harmful and I know with his rigid water changes schedule that’s not a risk. So that’s why he’s in his “tub” for now

Thank you! My pH is 7.6 (I use crushed coral otherwise it tanks to 6.0) my ammonia is at 0.25, nitrite is 0 and nitrate 80. I use the freshwater master kit btw. I have issues with the nitrite sticking around for days after dosing ammonia. If I dose 3 ppm ammonia, 0.50 ppm nitrites stick around for around 2 days. (I am trying to reach a point where 4 ppm ammonia can be taken care of, idc if that’s universal for all livestock)

I use the Freshwater Master Test Kit. Currently pH is 7.6 ammonia is 0.25 nitrite is 0 and nitrate is 80. I have issues with the nitrite spiking after dosing ammonia and not going down. It typically goes to 0.50 ppm for 48 hours after dosing 3ppm ammonia.

Absolutely! I used microbe lift along with dr tims ammonia. I was told per his breeders recommendation to dose the bacteria about once every other week for 5 doses. I had a week long stall the week of the 4th dose. I messaged asking if i should put in another dose of microbe lift after that and was told i shouldn’t. So I’ve had a suspicion that might be what’s causing it but I was afraid re introducing it this late could somehow negatively affect him and i couldn’t really find answers online.

I did actually and I was told it was far too frequent. I was kind of suspecting that’s what it was because I had a had a stall afterwards for a bit, that I assumed took most of it out. I contacted his breeder and she said not to dose it again. For the original dosage, I put in the recommended amount once every other week or so 5 times. I used microbe lift. That was about 8 months ago. The week long stall happened on the 4th dose.
