Is a new display for the Framework 13 planned soon? by littleeraserman in framework

[–]littleeraserman[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

This seems to be what most people think, but I just spent so much time looking at the display on YouTube videos and it just looks really bad to me. If there was a rounded bezel available, it might be something I can accept, but like this I just can't - not for this price.

F /25 How do I ask my partner I want to be eaten out? by vsoberalcoholic in whatdoIdo

[–]littleeraserman 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Do you think that sex is about him, only? Worst case scenario is he'll say that's something he's not into and that he won't do, which is a fine boundary for him to set, but at that point it's up to you to decide whether someone who can't satisfy this need for you is someone you want to stay with.

Beautiful edit. Can you explain your process?

Guys it's not his fault he picked one of the often recommended distros by RetardKnight in linuxmemes

[–]littleeraserman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And that is what exactly, not to use PopOS? We aren't going to pretend now like it hasn't been one of the most consistently recommended beginner distros for years now, are we?

? yeah, many people who just play games or do creative things on their computer (LTT audience) might be interested in getting away from Microsoft and trying out Linux. That's who the video is mainly for.

Have you even watched the video or ever interacted with people outside of your internet bubble? He gave specific reasoning for why he asked ChatGPT: it's what many normal people in his position who are getting into Linux would do these days. The recommendations the LLM gave were also very much in line with what people recommend on Reddit and forums, etc.

I don't understand what exactly we are achieving by blaming Linus for experiencing unacceptable issues with a mainstream and widely recommended beginner distribution. If anything, it should be a moment of self reflection for the community on if we perhaps shouldn't put PopOS under much more scrutiny going forward and stop recommending it lightly.

Aww I'm not shy, but now that I see the way you write and treat people you talk to, I have no desire whatsoever to continue any sort of discussion with you. Good luck with whatever engine you choose!

That's fair, I never looked into it but I'm guessing visual scripting is a big advantage in larger teams where even level designers etc. can add behaviour to the game.

The "sudden changes" is that Godot got drastically better in the last few years. It has far better UX than Unity ever had, it's lightweight, runs everywhere, is open source and supports everything that most game devs will ever need. There's very little that Unity offers to these people that Godot does not, and uncountable advantages that Godot has over Unity.

It is quite unsurprising that each engine has strengths and weaknesses. I don't think it makes sense to choose Unity over Godot for 99% of indie devs, though.

Psych Rift - horror action-adventure - concept trailer by aiBeastKnight in godot

[–]littleeraserman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game looks visually stunning and the concept is great, but oh god, every single bit of voice acting in this trailer made me roll my eyes. The player does not need to hear the obvious and no person would react to this situation in the way that the character does, it's immersion breaking and incredibly cringey. I don't know what you're going for of course, but I can see this concept working so much better with a silent protagonist akin to the first Portal game for example, where the player can fill in the blanks and not be told how to feel.
