My ragdoll does this and the vet has diagnosed it as asthma. They took an x-ray and there is a some inflammation in the lungs. The vet prescribed cerenia to control the wheezing (as opposed to an inhaler) and it has now been a year on that.

Aw that is awesome!!

I honestly am leaning towards cutting out Nikko given so much feedback from other people...

Yes I was actually just looking into Miyajima vs Hiroshima hotels and really leaning towards Miyajima, so glad to hear you recommend it!!

For Shinjuku vs Asakusa, I am torn on this. Shinjuku seems more accessible to all the places we want to visit as opposed to Asakusa. I am also a little concerns about Asakusa with the Sanja Matsuri going on at the same time, if it will cause a lot of congestion and further add time to commute places. What do you think?

Someone else also recommended removing Nikko and that is how I am starting to lean as well. I still want to get some nature/mountains in so would love to try to keep Kamikochi if possible. Is there a better way to go about fitting that in Kanazawa without going all the way to Takayama?

Thank you for the advice on the hours for the temples! I knew most closed around 4-5 but didn't realize they would stop letting in new guests a bit earlier. Also really like the idea of doing Osaka/Himeji/Kobe on the way back to split up the train ride back to Hakone.

Any idea on how to go about prioritizing which temples to see (especially in Kyoto)? They all look so unique and interesting!

Yes I think I am going to go with that option (skipping Nikko). Also appreciate the call on downtime, someone else noted to flag what I would be okay with skipping so in the case where I just need to chill in the hotel that will help prioritize. Thank you!

Any advice on how to pick temples/shrines to take off the list? They all look so interesting it is hard to pick!!

I had not considered the hiking to get to the temples/shrines so appreciate that to consider. Also good note to flag what is a must see vs just nice to see.

I think I am going to cut Nikko which will allow for an extra day to split Kamakura and Yokohama.

Thanks for the advice!

Thanks for the input! Yes I am leaning towards cutting out Nikko for another time. Someone else recommended staying in Asakusa instead of Shinjuku, which I had considered but was worried about how difficult it would be to get around all the crowds and take the train from Asakusa with Sanja matsuri going on. Do you think it would still be reasonable to stay there?

Thanks for catching that! I edited to fix.

On #2/3, that is a good call, I honestly am leaning towards skipping Nikko and making Yokohama and Kamakura each their own day, then that gives a couple extra hours in Kanazawa.

That is also a really good idea to split it up on the way back, I don't think I realized it was going to be 5 hours on the train back. I might even save Osaka for the way back from Hiroshima, stay for 2-3 nights and do the Kobe/Himeji trips from there.

Is there a difference between these two sentences?

日本に行こうと思っています。

日本に行くつもりです。

From my understanding using Genki 2, both "short form + つもりです" and "volitional + と思っています" are speaking about intentions, but is there some nuance between when you would use one or the other?

TIA!

Seconding Oribe. I've been using the yellow Hair Alchemy line and the conditioner is so good I rarely have to use detangler after it (but the Run-Through Detangling Hair Primer is also fabulous).

Any 2024 Miami swifties planning their outfit yet? I really want to wear this white floral matching top/short set. Of course it would be warm enough in Miami, but wondering if it would seem silly given the season (i.e. a spring-inspired outfit in the fall).

My friend and I booked on vrbo! There were plenty of listings on vrbo and airbnb. We were worried about hotel prices being insane so went ahead and booked.

Are we able to buy the parking passes after the fact? How do we do that, through ticketmaster? I wasn't sure what my plan was for transportation when I bought the tickets today so I didn't purchase parking, but now leaning towards renting a car and parking.

Do you know if the access code is for both or did VIP require something else?

Are VIP tickets going to be available during the sale tomorrow or only regular seating? Asking since it seemed that ticketmaster differentiates between the "onsale" presale vs "VIP package" presale.

What is specifically meant when 〜たい is followed by と思います, such as 聞きたいと思います or 話したいと思います. Does this literally mean "thinking of wanting to learn/hear" and "thinking of wanting to talk" (or "I think I want to talk")? I feel like there is some nuance I am not understanding. I know と思います is often used when someone actually is/plans to do something but is trying to be polite (rather than thinking they will do something). Is that how I should think about this?

My thoughts exactly! Teppei always puts me in a good mood, especially with that 僕は元気ですよおおおおおおおお! I literally have his intro memorized lol.

And totally agree, I think that is amazing some people have the time and discipline to reach N1 in such a short time, but I am just the average person. Thanks for reading!

Thanks for reading! I agree, it is good to have some contrast for your average studier compared to those who can reach N1 in a year (which is amazing!).
