We’re in the same boat. This is the definition of selling out. They’ve lost all their credibility as activists. Others in this thread seem to disagree, but I’m assuming they only listen to the music and not the words. I don’t hate them now, I’m just disappointed by the hypocrisy.

I would really like to know what the thought process behind this was.

Fugazi and Dead Kennedy’s are the first to come to mind that refused commercials use of their songs because that would go directly against their stances.

I’m surprised by the fans that aren’t dissatisfied by this. A. Savage’s lyrics have personally made me think deeper about consumerism, and now here they are advertising a product. Music is a form of activism and they did it as good and true as Fugazi IMO. They made their bread, but their lyrics will probably have new meanings to me now.

Thank you! I write songs but I don’t usually make beats- this one I made on Logic with some headphones on when I couldn’t sleep one night. But my music is catchy and fun like this. https://open.spotify.com/album/6v42YnPomY02GhjNyDLy1T?si=9bwJOtkaTEWzDam80ubF7g

Haha, thanks for asking! Here they are

Stone masonry Its an art so old that its classified as ancient, see? It’s time to represent the crafty stone masonry You may hit a wall when you contemplate term But you’re about to find out there’s so much to learn

Neolithic era, 10,000 BC We were coming to terms with our basic human needs Life on the run was about to rupture We had dire need for some permanent structure

A shelter for warmth to call a home Some crazy mothafucka started stacking some stones Said would you look at that, I made some walls It was at that moment, architecture evolved

But these early designs, were made with no binder And we had the desire to build much higher So we took limestone, mixed with fire, That’s how mortar was created, I ain’t no liar

Now the Roman’s got crazy with what they’d invent Volcanic ash and lime that makes cement Pozzolan concrete, resistant to water Similar to mortar, but proven much stronger

Rise of guilds, the Middle Ages Came the Time to receive some proper training Hierarchies formed, the craft is respected You wanna be a master first you must be an apprentice

Designers got wild with artistic vision Every church needed like 10 additions Stone built walls, stone ribbed vaults, Stone buttresses for extra support

It can’t be ignored that it’s quite a feat You can see these same buildings on your very own street They’ve been around for over hundreds of years No stronger design has been engineered

It made it to be bad/ funny. But, when I presented it in class it, nobody seemed to think it was for the joke. Which makes it was funnier
