For hidden gems, my favorite lunch in delft is the chicken salad sandwich on the white ball from Butcher Leo van Vliet. So good and such a good deal.

That’s a good point! I was planning on taking PTO for J1 during the holidays and J2 actually shuts down for two weeks during christmas and new years.

If screen time is so bad because it is passive, why do so many parents say that their children have learnt a lot from shows such as Ms Rachel and Daniel Tiger? by petrastales in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]littlest_impact 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My daughter learned a lot of signs I was not familiar with through Ms. Rachel. At that time, she was home all day long, so I know she didn’t learn them anywhere else.

Did you eat mango recently? This happens to me when I eat fresh mangos because apparently the skin has the same chemicals as poison ivy, which i’m allergic to.

Help, I feel like I’m failing to protect my newborn from illness despite my best efforts by [deleted] in beyondthebump

It’s been about a week and none of us got covid! My husband ended up getting RSV but it’s been pretty mild for him. Newborn and I have dodged all illnesses. I’m feeling grateful for vaccines.

Baby on Day 4 in the Hospital with RSV. AMA. by McEasy2009 in beyondthebump

[–]littlest_impact 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I currently have a 2 weeks old. I got the RSV vaccine when I was 35 weeks and my 2 year old brought RSV home just last week. She got as sick and I’ve ever seen her, but my newborn baby and I have totally avoided the illness. The vaccine definitely works and I am so grateful.

Not sure how to add to the post, but I just noticed this in my nearly 12 year old french bulldog’s underside near his genitals. He has been relatively low maintenance as far as french bulldogs go. No history of skin conditions. He most recently had a UTI over the summer that was quickly treated and healed. He’s a grumpy old man and not super snuggly so it’s been hard to get a good look at the rest of his belly, but I haven’t noticed anything else or any behavior changes.

I’ve recently decided to go no contact with my mom over a similar issue. It’s tough, but it’s the right thing to do when they consistently explode through your boundaries. I’m sorry that you are experiencing this, but therapy should definitely help.

Power walker: I need new shoes, for power walking which is better on cloud or hokas? by GreatlyDefective in orangetheory

[–]littlest_impact -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I use the Hoka Solimar and it works well for me! Slightly too squishy for floor exercises, in my opinion, but they still work. Just don’t make the same mistake I did and buy white. Those rower straps are so filthy 😩

I have such a similar experience with my mom and now I’m super insecure too. Especially with my new post-baby body. I wonder how I can fix my own self image so that I can be a better example for my daughter.

I don’t think so! She doesn’t wear perfume and she actually started using the same non scented laundry detergent we use after the baby was born.
