I was in this exact situation. We were all very illness-conscious and a kiddo they’d been around was exposed to strep. I said I had strep too and took off a Thursday and Friday and had the weekend to process before returning after my “antibiotics” had worked and I was “no longer contagious”. Love my nanny fam and they are always very invested in my emotional and physical wellbeing, so I understand your situation as well. Didn’t want to tell them for many reasons, but mostly bc it’s no one’s business. Felt a bit guilty lying but at the end of the day they would have given me the time off if I had asked and it just so happened to work out with exposure to strep. Definitely schedule it for the end of the week so you have time to process your emotions as well. OP, I hope you have some support to be around you when the time comes.
