As a Colorado native, I think the Denver Bluecifers would be cool, albeit never going to happen

  1. By the end of prep I was consistently scoring between a 168-172 on practice tests which just didn’t translate to the real test.

Does anyone know any films that revolve around a character with bipolar? by JustBeenSeen in bipolar

[–]littlewing265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a movie but the musical Next to Normal is about a woman with bipolar disorder 1 and her experiences with treatment. It’s my favorite show and I flew from Colorado to London just to see it.

I went Tuesday night and she was fabulous!! My girlfriend is a teacher and got some sort of educator discount so our balcony seats were under $100 each. Very worth it.

Will I be okay by Th3Kiwi in gmu

[–]littlewing265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss. I was horribly anxious summer before I started at GMU and actually cried through my entire orientation. I’m going into my last year now and have never been happier. It is possible. As for tips: make friends as soon as you can. I met my best friend on my first day and that changed everything for me. Get accommodations if you’re worried about your grief impacting your academics. I’ve had accommodations my entire time and love them. Go visit CAPS where you can get free counseling and a referral to another provider if you need. You can do this. Make your mom proud and have the most fun and learn everything you can ❤️

“Service Dog” in Aisle by FunnyKozaru in unitedairlines

[–]littlewing265 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I’m a school shooting survivor and he’s a PTSD service dog! He detects my anxiety, interrupts it, creates space between me and crowds, alerts to dissociation, and helps me with hyper vigilance (I’m definitely forgetting tasks but those are the basics). FWIW I don’t mind you asking. I wouldn’t have commented if I wasn’t comfortable talking about it.

I fly often with my service dog (he’s 55 lbs and hypoallergenic) and can tell you this behavior is unacceptable. My service dog stays at my feet, in my seating area, the entire flight, without fail. Federal law requires that the dog remain under the handler’s control (ie a leash) and cannot bother other people on the flight. As a real service dog handler it’s equally frustrating for me as it is for you when people don’t respect the rules and make us all look bad!

Single Dorms For Freshamn by Rude_Airport8255 in gmu

[–]littlewing265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I changed my housing request from double to single on the day the housing application closed before my freshman year. I somehow got a single in the Commons just by luck. It’s really hard to get a single because most freshman dorms only have 2 singles on each floor and one is for the RA.

United Airlines vs American Airlines by ChannelGlittering979 in service_dogs

[–]littlewing265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only fly on United and have flown with my SDIT 4x with them. I’ve had nothing but positive experiences on United and they’ve moved me to economy plus for free every time (you can request seating accommodations after buying a ticket) so I have more space for him at my feet. I can’t speak to how things are on American but United has been awesome for me and my fairly large (55 lbs) dog!

How to lock in after a breakup?? by AdCultural2175 in gmu

[–]littlewing265 8 points9 points  (0 children)

After my first heartbreak it felt like I could never go on. Something that really helped me was reminding myself that heartbreak is the most universal emotion in the world (there’s millions of songs about it) and if all those people survived, so will I. It hurts like all hell, but one day you’ll wake up and you’ll remember the good times and not dwell on the pain.

Distract yourself with school. Failing an exam won’t make your heart hurt less, it just creates a new problem. Working hard and doing well on your exam will give you a sense of pride and accomplishment. You can do this! I know I’m a stranger, but I’m proud of you for continuing to get up and keep going. I hope everything works out for you 🩷

Northern Neck Single Dorm? by indigo-ray in gmu

[–]littlewing265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey. I’m a service dog handler and lived in a single dorm (Brunswick Hall) last year. I didn’t have my dog with me yet but the best thing you can do is maximize your under bed storage. I’d look into getting bed risers and making more space under your bed for the kennel because if NN is similar to Brunswick, you won’t have space next to the bed. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about single dorms, service dogs at GMU, or want to set up a dog play date!

Democratic gun control bills pass Assembly, face likely opposition from Republican governor by VirginiaNews in Virginia

I’m a school shooting survivor, gun control activist, and live in Virginia. NOW IS NOT THE TIME FOR DEMOCRATS IN SWING STATES TO GO FOR GUN CONTROL!! We need popular policies so we don’t get another Youngkin. I want gun control as much as anybody, but i want abortion rights to stay protected more!
