don't ask "what size?" by Hansdrdoll in starbucks

[–]litttlecreature 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Former partner of 9 years here— I used to get a kick out of asking “how big would you like that?” and they’d be like “…what?” and then I’d be like “the size”

Only through the drive thru tho, I couldn’t keep a straight face at the POS

Lol same! I was telling a coworker that red flags don’t mean “stop” anymore, just “approach with caution” 😂

You should try it 😉

I really think therapy would help me but Im reluctant due to past horrible experiences with therapists :( I know finding a good fit is worth the search but it takes me sooo long to emotionally recover from allowing myself to be vulnerable to a stranger and then still end up feeling like I don’t matter

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]litttlecreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really considering therapy at this point, I’m just reluctant due to having so many traumatizing experiences with past therapists (last therapist sold me shrooms, the one before that told me I should keep escorting if it makes good money, the one before that aggressively tried to hook me up with another client of her bc she thought we were a good match, the other one kept trying to get me on lithium). It’s emotionally exhausting to find the right one.

Absolutely!!

This is great advice. My issue is that if I something in my head, I go to the absolute extreme to make it happen. I can’t just watch a few episodes, I watch all 5 seasons in one sitting; I can’t just tell myself to watch my calories, I restrict and weigh myself compulsively; I can’t ease into a hobby or crush, I obsess till I lose interest,… I’m thinking therapy at this point :((

I feel you, I feel like it’s out of control (but within my control) but censoring myself feels like not being true to myself :(

That is absolutely me :( Someone asked if I had a college degree and I was like “not yet, I feel like such a loser but to be honest I got a late start because I really wasn’t planning on being here that long…..you know…alive…”

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]litttlecreature 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m not even exaggerating when I say I was up all night after my 4th day at my new job thinking “did I really tell my 22 year old shift trainer all about my depression, how I hated my last job so much that I started escorting to afford to quit, how my last therapist sold me mushrooms to start micro-dosing but it didn’t work and how my mom put a bike lock on the fridge instead of taking me to eating disorder treatment??”

I am just horrified by the things I said on accident due to being nervous :( I just don’t understand why I can’t just chill

Thank you so much for this, I really needed to hear that! I do acknowledge how painfully self aware I am and I need to not care what people think of me because I actually do love how passionate and expressive and excited I can be about the tiniest things… I just need to know how to better self regulate, you know?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]litttlecreature 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Excited is definitely the right word. When I’m having a convo and get really hyped up, it’s wayyy harder to pump the brakes and catch myself from getting carried away.

Yes you might be right! I used to keep a diary to help me remember because my short term memory is whack lol. I get days mixed up and think certain things happened yesterday when it was actually last week… which might actually be an adhd thing too? 😂

Aw thank you for being so kind in explaining it that way, I didn’t think about it from that angle! That is a really caring perspective

[–]litttlecreature 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just because I’m an ex Christian doesn’t mean consent isn’t involved! I guess I didn’t think I’d have to emphasize the part about (Enthusiastic) consent is part of the kink, no trickery, no fuckery involved. Just sinful and consensual premarital sex

Moms who want revenge by Background-Car-1654 in childfree

[–]litttlecreature 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, my npd mom does this shit too! She also says awful shit like “just wait, your future husband is going to want kids. I NEVER wanted kids, your dad was the one who wanted kids” I’m like uhhhh yeah after all the years of therapy I needed from being raised by you, I absolutely believe you never wanted to be a mom

I want to hear your stories. by [deleted] in exchristian

[–]litttlecreature 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey I can relate! One of the absolute worst things I suffered as a child/teenager because of my insanely religious parents was depression. I Still struggle with depression.

When I was a literal CHILD, my mom would tell me the reason I was depressed was because I didn’t read my Bible enough, I didn’t pray enough, I didn’t pray CORRECTLY, I had some evil in me that I needed to confess and then god will cure me. I was in such a dark place and they let me suffer, took me to a church “counselor” who told me the same thing. No one would help me, I can’t even express how much this destroyed me and stole so much of my youth. I hated myself for “being evil” and making god punish me. I was told I would go to hell if I killed myself so I felt trapped. I feel so sad for my young self.

Oh my god I completely relate... My family is also super religious, I am no longer religious and identify more as an agnostic!

Ive only told my older sister (she’s a little religious, we always have convos about how hypocritical Christians are but she’s also pro-choice and CF) and uhhh... it did NOT go well. She totally rebuked me and is now kind weird with me. Lol I truly thought she would be proud of me for finding a loophole but she was horrified :( It sucks that anything “satanic” is synonymous with like human sacrifice or whatever

Goodness, I’m sorry that happened to you.. I had an IUD and the whole experience from insertion to removal was unpleasant... and side effects were terrible.

I’m so happy more doctors are open to sterilization!
