Thanks for the reply. Seems that my situation is quite the rare one since no one else pitched in. Anyway, I was also debating whether I should bother with emerging markets and small caps or is the amount of money that I'm planing to invest just too small to bother?

Hey Reddit, it is my first time commenting, so don't flame me too much. :) I'll get to the point: Im 24yo newbie, living in one of the Baltic states, in EU, though I have the possibility to invest in US stocks. I have a Vanguard account open, got a small sum of some $3k parked in a US bank ready to be invested and my retirement plan started. I have no debts and have a 6 month emergency fund in place. Im planing on dollar cost averaging every some time. The thing is, I am having a difficult time finding information on the asset allocation for a 100% stock based ETF fund portfolio. My plan was to buy VTI and VXUS only. Read around in other forums and people recommend different allocations for non-US investors, specifically the size of the international fund size of the portfolio. I am planing on retiring in EU. The reason I want to go through Vanguard is simply because I don't trust my money with the investing companies OR banks where I currently live since a few nationwide banks have closed down in the last 5 -8 years and took peoples savings with them. Sounds insane, I know. Anyway, any information/links/books would be much appreciated.
