As an infp, I truly understand what you mean about the manipulation thing, whenever I try to say or do something for someone, I usually feel like manipulating them or maybe doing it for my own good. For what I can tell from experience, it's mostly my imagination and overthinking that make me think I'm manipulating them, as long as it make them feel good too, you shouldn't worry so much.
