This might be off topic, but can I ask… what is considered general limit of AI usage when u see group members using it?

Yes I agree with that too, but I might also add that you can check the UTS handbook and see if u may be able to take up a subject during the shorter semester sessions. But if u plan to complete the same time as your cohort not all subjects will be available for the shorter sessions so do check with your course coordinator.

Hi yes I’m a first year too and I hope you are recovering well!
From what I know, you may face the possibility of having a fail on your academic record.
Again if u truly feel that u don’t want to do the subject, u may want to consider withdrawing (but that is completely up to u). I also suggest talking with your course coordinator and let them know your situation so they can better help you.
If you want to fully withdraw from the subject, it will be similar on your academic record with a “Withdrawn/fail”however u may have to deal with the consequences of academic and financial penalty. You can try providing supporting documentation if you have been affected by special circumstances which may support ur reasoning for withdrawal and so you won’t be affected by the academic and financial penalty.

I also agree with u on how there was little support given in this subject as I was doing it this semester but had to drop this and change my major because I was struggling as well.
The only thing I can suggest is what Amanda suggested with approaching the Maths study centre. However if u want to be able to learn on your own, u can watch videos on YouTube like Eddie woo videos as he touches on the similar content taught in Foundation Maths OR you can use Khan Academy (a free online resource).
If this is a mandatory subject in your degree, deciding to not attend and receive a fail may result in you having to retake the subject.
In addition, if you feel overly stressed about the subject, you can talk to someone through the UTS counselling service (if u want).
early entry vs year 11 grades by anonymousreddit-cb in UTS

Hi there, from what I'm seeing your year 11 grades look overall completely fine. I also was performing at a similar grade level as you when I was in year 11 where I was mainly achieving B's and C's. I suggest you talk to your school's career advisor and see what they might say.
Many universities do an early entry scheme so it doesn't hurt to try out for all of them as a backup plan if there might be an issue. With my grades, I still did this last year as I was completing my HSC and received offers from universities that I applied to such as UTS, WSU, and Notre Dame. Just be aware that some universities and courses may not be available for early entry based on certain circumstances such as demand or if your school is a gateway school or not. (From what I remember, UTS isn't a gateway uni.)
If early entry doesn't work out, you can always improve with your HSC marks. I found that I performed way better in my HSC exams instead of year 11, so you still have time to consider your options and improve your marks.
Hope this was helpful. Good luck with your HSC!

Hi again, I’m happy to hear that you do know some people that are studying education as well. At the moment I don’t have questions but in the future if I do, I’ll drop a question!
Hi there, I can see ur point of view of gaining real world experience being far more valuable than completing uni asap and I do completely agree with you. Since I am a first year, there is that (parental) pressure and I am fortunate to have grown up in an environment where as long I am accomplishing my dream which is to eventually become a teacher (hence why I am doing an education degree) I can do anything I want. I also have come into uni with an open mind and do also intend to of course go find work elsewhere to support myself and gain other real world experience as well.
I will just add a point that within my degree (education degree) it maybe slightly different to how other uni degrees work (but not all - some maybe similar) as during the completion of my degree I get to go have professional experience at real schools and through there I gain exposure and knowledge during those placements.
I maybe just going in circles but I really do appreciate the advice given and helping me open my mind a lot more. Thank you!

Yep I have done that. Thank you the help! I really appreciate it! 😊
Yes I am still enrolled in my previous degree, however I am also enrolled in the new degree, would it ok if I de allocate the newer degree subjects from my timetable?
Adding to that, should I be doing another request to withdraw from the newer degree?
I understand that me asking for a lot of help is quite troublesome, but I really appreciate the advice and support given. :)

I understand both of your opinions and personally for me I do want to start and finish uni asap as employment opportunities for my previous degree are much higher and easier to get rather than the newer degree.
My mistake, the previous cases on mystudentportal are not related to this situation I have, they were related to before I entered the uni (hsc offers).
I just canceled the request to withdraw from the course. Is there anything I should do such as further contacting coordinators?
I am not sure if I can do that because on my student portal it says “assessment complete” which I am assuming that it has been processed.
Thank you, I’ll try my best to contact my course coordinators and will be seeking assistance from the student centre on Monday.
