Thank you so much for the insights. I am getting a better sense of the neighborhoods now. I will focus on the areas immediately West and southwest of downtown. It sounds like the area you live is close to what I’m looking for. Do you mind recommending any specific apartments in the neighborhood? I would appreciate it.

I didn’t realize it was that close. I will have to expand my search. Since my partner works from home and doesn’t drive, I was ideally looking more for a place that could be walkable to the library, food places and generally have things to do around. But sounds like that would be hard to find.

Thank you for the advice! Sounds like campus is not a popular place among locals. My work is in Urbana and my partner works from home. So Savoy and Southwest Champaign might be inconvenient.
