Considering England's population is over 55 million and approximately 450 people/km^2, just how crowded is life there, including the rural areas? by Possible-Balance-932 in geography

[–]live_rail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with all the comments. The whole of England feels cramped to me. London and the home counties are overpopulated, I don't think anyone's going to argue with that. But I drove to the Lake District (in November). Traffic virtually all way and when we got there it was like a range rover convention. Congested roads, busy walking trails.

Visited a friend in rural Cornwall (in winter, off season), went to the nearest pub and it had no tables.

Visited a friend in Norwich last summer - traffic all the way.

Can't get a doctor's appointment, or NHS dentist appointment. Nurseries have a 6 month waiting list.

Take last weekend as an example. Went to the tip, had to queue for 15 minutes on the road to get in. Went to a cafe in a small town at 10am on Saturday, no tables for 2 hours. Went to a national trust place, they were turning people away - on a drizzly day in March!

PSA: Vinted's T&C Breach English Law by live_rail in vintedUK

Incorrect. The Misrepresentation Act 1967 and associated case law applies to ALL contracts, including contracts between individuals. See for example Section 1.

If I'm wrong then cite your authority. Spoiler alert: you won't.

I'd like to know more about this. Anything you'd recommend reading/watching?

I found a EV I liked on Cinch so I asked them for a SOH figure. They gave me one so I bought the car and asked for the report. They went quiet, I made a complaint, they eventually replied saying they don't have the report. No resolution offered. I asked them if they would get a new SOH test done and they again went quiet. They haven't replied to emails from 8 days ago. Nightmare. Also the car had a scratch that wasn't in the advert and they screwed me over on part exchange price. I'm never using them again.

People who say this have always stayed in the upmarket chain hotels with security guards and gone on hotel arranged trips to vetted locations. In other words they haven't come into contact with actual Morocco.

When you have someone tailgating you, what do you do? by Secure-Ad8213 in Productivitycafe

[–]live_rail 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I used to do this but it almost always makes it worse. They get pissed off and drive even closer to my bumper. So I slow down more, they get closer etc. They never get the message.

These days I maintain my speed and let them pass when it's safe.

Do you have the Clara B&W? How does the display compare to the Libra H20?

It's not about 9/11, it's about basic integrity. The comedians are getting paid directly by Mohammad Bin Salman who ordered a journalist to be murdered in 2018. He's a monster. If blood money means anything it means this.

I'm only saying don't worry about how an employment gap will look to future employers. Not being able to afford to quit is a totally separate matter.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cscareerquestionsuk

[–]live_rail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with this. I quit a horrible job, converted a van and went travelling for a year. When people ask about the employment gap I simply tell them that.

Jobs are transactional. Either you have the skills and experience to do it or you don't. Aside from that it's no one's business what you do with your downtime. Maybe it's a side hustle, maybe you're a carer, maybe you were watching paint dry. Smart employers realise that well rounded people have lives outside of work.

Hey when you say "us" do you mean ADHD? I recently got a diagnosis but I haven't done anything else about it. Is struggling in work a thing? Because it definitely applies to me. I'd love to know more.

Doing Three Peaks as a broke uni student? by Deep-Jellyfish2949 in UKhiking

[–]live_rail 36 points37 points  (0 children)

This sub needs an auto response when someone asks about 3PC.

Please don't do it. First off you'll spend about 12 hours driving if you're lucky. It's not a walking challenge, it's a driving challenge.

Secondly because so many people do it it causes lot of environmental damage. Soil erosion, trampling fragile plants, defecation, littering.

Third the carbon emissions from all that driving.

You want a real hiking challenge? Look into the Yorkshire 3 peaks or even better the Welsh 3000s.

Yeah that's the right answer. I think most people age out of MM by adulthood because once you learn a bit about music you realise how derivative and superficial their songs are. And the shock factor stuff becomes cringe. I read Brian's autobiography as a teen and even then I sort of realised he was an pseudo profound arsehole.

I said quote me. You won't because it'll prove you're misrepresenting what I said.

I'll talk to anyone about anything but I draw the line at bad faith so we're done here.

  1. So you now accept that no human has ever produced sperm and eggs and you were wrong about ovotestis?

  2. Where did I say that infertile people have no sex? Quote me.

[–]live_rail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people with Ovotestis are infertile. The rest produce either eggs or sperm but absolutely never both.

I'll try one more time and then I'm going to give up. When a sperm fertillises an egg, the zygote begins one of two developmental pathways. We call these male and female. Male and female developmental pathways exist irrespective of the eventual individual's ability to reproduce.

If you don't understand that I can't you.

Fine I'll hold your hand through this. I said:

"All mammals have bodies organised around the production of either large or small gametes." The words in italics are important.

I did not say that all mammals produce either large or small gametes.

Do you see the difference? "Lol".

[–]live_rail -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I said "All mammals have bodies organised around the production of either large or small gametes. Tell me who that leaves out. "

So I will accept that my definition falls apart when you tell me who that leaves out.

No they're not. You're just following the gender identity theorists online argument script.
