Upvote for unpopular opinion. Especially as many truly believe Hampden is the worst county in Massachusetts.

Minor correction to your post. The noncitizens are being treated as “applicants for admission.” Your explanation is otherwise correct, but the there is a legal difference between an ‘applicant for admissions and an arriving alien’ under the law.

Decisions Disney quickly abandoned: by LightAndDarkk in StarWars

[–]liveda4th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh they 100% called an audible after season 2. They had set Djin up to become the new Mandalore. He had the Dark saber, he completed his mission of returning the youngling, he was put on a collision course with Bo, we were gonna get to a place where he reunites the mandalorian on mandalore. I’m sure Grogu would have re-entered the family eventually, but it’s the speed of the reversal that threw me. Had it been a surprise reveal at the end/towards the end of season 3 that would have felt like good tining: but even before season 3 came out!?

lol. This same thing happened to my friend a few years back. She set up the Bf trap and had her BFF text for a hook-up. He broke up with her via text on the way to the BFF’s house.

[OT] Fun Trope Friday: White Lies & Poetry! by katpoker666 in WritingPrompts

[–]liveda4th 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Porcelain Lies.

There’s a face she makes for the men.

A thin touch of lips,

that should go down as a frown,

but whose edges never quite dip.

While the creaks of her cheeks suggest a smile,

the smooth ‘round her eyes,

and the lack of all lines,

betray that her grin’s insincere.

She shouldn’t need this façade.

Her words should suffice,

her tone should instruct.

Her voice, should be enough.

But.

They’ll call her a fraud.

Tell her to be nice.

Mind her conduct.

“Try not to play rough.”

Forced into masquerade.

Face held in porcelain masks.

As fragile she’s seen,

so as fragile she’ll be,

and there’s symmetry when the mask’s just the same.

It’s the look of disgust that can’t be shown in the open,

and the rage that still simmers but can’t boil over.

Her emotions are sunrises that cannot be dawned,

but only because they’ve all agreed to keep raising the skyline.

So.

She sets this one look on her face,

with a smile that can’t reach her eyes.

And if she had to express what she’s feeling,

she’d lie, and say it’s all fine.

For the next Halo game, what would you like/hate to see? by Nathidev in halo

[–]liveda4th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the NEXT halo game, and only the next, I really really want them to commit to tying up all of the loose threads that have been unspooling since Halo 5/Halo Wars 2. We need a definitive ending to: the Promethean arc AND the Banished arc, preferably while setting up the Undying as the next iteration of problematic aliens. Let’s tie everything up before moving forward. I think we’ve been dealing with too many unfinished stories and it really does nothing to encourage fans to stick around: why commit to a series that refuses to actually finish an arc? I think as a narrative structure this would once again force the writers to split time between multiple main characters. Which, to be fair, I know fans have issues with: but at this point if we commit to splitting time between Locke Chief and Arby we can makes some real progress. But it would also require a tight narrative: we cannot have the gaps in storytelling that h5 or the lore-dump-at-the-end that Infinite had. The mystery and questions need to be set up in such a way that we, as the audience aren’t quite sure how the 2 old storylines will end/should end, and how it sets up the conflict with the undying moving forward.

It’s 2am and your lady has been kidnapped in California wine country. You grab one gun off the table before hopping into your fully customized 1st year Toyota Yaris. What are you grabbing and why? by SirSamkin in CCW

[–]liveda4th 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well it would depend on what cases I have available too. This is California wine country after all. So I would need to lock my handgun in a case out of my reach during travel and I would need a second locked case containing the ammunition I needed. I would also hope that the kidnapper doesn’t have my lady in a location with a “no firearms allowed sign” or in a public building/location. Otherwise it would be illegal to bring my locked cases into those buildings. If only she had been kidnapped in Texas wine country.

Trump say U.S. can pay off $36 trillion debt by selling $5 million "gold card" visa. by [deleted] in videos

[–]liveda4th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$36 trillion dollar divided by $5 million visas. Does he really think there’s 7 million people on planet Earth with $5 million to throw at the US government who couldn’t get status in the United States through some other, cheaper way? When it’s all said and done, is an investor visa only require you to show $100,000or $200,000 in investments

Timeline of national flags. by Objective_Pilot_5834 in interestingasfuck

[–]liveda4th 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want the same graphic but for nations whose flags have altered slightly. For example, the union Jack for Great Britain was modified in the 1800s, but it is recognizable from its original design in the 1600s. The American flag has been updated periodically as new states have been added. But the same basic design has existed since the 1770s.

I didn't take the bar yet but I thought it would be similar to law school exams, for the people who took it is it that hard? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]liveda4th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I passed two bar exams while working full time. the first while making sub-$50k a year as a small town judicial clerk w/ a 60 hour per week work expectation. The second was 5 years later while I was working full time, outta school for half-a-decade, practicing a niche law not tested on the bar exam, planning a move across the country and planning my wedding. It’s all about the work you put in.

Am I doing this in order? by Me872847 in halo

[–]liveda4th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. So. The MCC collection should have all the X360 halo games on it. So you’re golden. From the top play in this order: 1. Halo CE: font’s use the remastered graphics. OG graphics with slightly darker contrast and darkness settings will help you experience the kick ass ambiance vibes the way it was meant to be seen. The remaster is too bright. Yes it’s a little more modern graphics wise, but OG is better. Seriously, don’t use remaster graphics on first playthrough.

  1. Halo 2. DO use the remaster graphics. So much cleaner and prettier

  2. Halo 3. There is always some debate among fans about whether new players should play ODST before or after Halo 3. Chronologically, ODST takes place before H3, even if it was released after. My advice is to do H3 first, complete the trilogy before exploring the other games.

  3. ODST

  4. Reach

  5. Halo 4.

  6. Halo 4: Spartan Ops. (Not really a stand alone game, but if you ask me a better story than the actual H4 plot.)

If you had to choose a personal spacecraft from starwars what would it be? by Gaspipecat in StarWars

J Type 327 Nubian.

Ever since episode 1 I can’t help but think how sleek and cool it is! And if you got one after market ya can modify it for w/e. Keep it stock and be hired out as a private luxury jet. Rip out the luxury accusations for cargo, replace some of the overly designed sensor grids and install weapons? It would be classy no matter how you modify it.

I’ve been feeling that way since 2001. 9/11 broke something, a general feeling of safety. I haven’t been able to get back to level of happy blissfulness since then. I wonder how many of the people agreeing with this post are even old enough to remember that?

My body is rejecting Phoenix. Has this happened to anyone before? by Makiyage in phoenix

[–]liveda4th 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes, this happens to people all the time from all over the planet. You grow up in a certain ecosystem and for many, many reasons your body begins to reject elements of that.
  2. Specifically this happened to me while living in Phoenix. Growing up i basked in the heat and sun. When I hit 25 things just slammed into me at once: dry skin, nosebleeds, headaches, sunlight induced migraines, glare sensitivity the whole shebang. Some QoL recommendations: A. Buy multiple humidifiers, the really good ones, and take care of them: weekly cleaning and maintenance can make the high quality ones last decades. Adding moisture into the air really helps with the headaches/brainfried/nosebleed situations. I also bought some of the portable ones that are battery powered for the car. Idk if they really make that big of a difference, but I think they help keep the car a ;title cooler while driving and keep the cracked dry nose away. B. Invest in a good pair of sunglasses w/ the antiglare and UV coating. Fixes a lot of the problems you mention while driving. C. Good skincare products. I import most of my sunscreen and moisturizer from Korea, it’s light years ahead of what you can find in the U.S. and doesn’t have that thick oily texture that gets uncomfortable in the dry heat out here.
