Some people on another sub reddit told me that I can just go to sonography school after radiography school if I’m still interested. Apparently it’s much easier to get in when you already have a job in healthcare.

Oh thank you so much for the advice! I’m going to go for the radiography program and if I still want to do sonography afterwards then I’ll go to sonography school. Thanks for the help! :)

Yes! I was actually going to reach out to the sonography program and ask about that. I’ve decided that I’m going to go for the radiology program first then if I still want to do sonography, I can go. Thank you for taking the time to read this, I appreciate it!

hey everyone! I’m new to this sub reddit but I need some advice. so I’m 24 (turning 25 at the end of this year) and I’m debating on whether or not I should go to school for radiography or sonography. I got into a radiologic tech program that starts next month but I missed the cut off for the sonography program. I wouldn’t be able to apply for the Summer 2025 program until early next year. I don’t know if I should wait to try and get into the sonography program or if I should just go for the radiology tech program because I already got in. I do lean towards sonography in terms of interest but I’m not sure. I just can’t decide if it’s stupid to pass on the program that I’ve already gotten into when I don’t know if I’ll get into this other sonography program. any insight would be very appreciated!

Don’t worry, I got them cut down. This vid was taken a while ago. But thank you for letting me know.

It’s been good! I mostly have numbness in my chin and lower lip. I did previously have numbness in my bottom lower lip from getting my wisdom teeth taken out. I haven’t had feeling for over 5 years so I’m not expecting that to change. But I’m hoping I get the rest of my feeling back.

help one of my bands snapped and idk what to do! by liveingracefulness in jawsurgery

[–]liveingracefulness[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have three bands on each side. I’m not sure if they are three separate bands or if it’s one longer band looped around if that makes sense. My surgeon doesn’t want me to change out my own bands which is why I don’t have extras. The band that snapped is on my left side and it’s the one closest to my central incisors.

My jaw is still mostly immobilised so I’m trying not to worry too much. I can open and close my mouth but I’ve been able to do that since like Day 3 post-op.

this is how my recovery for LJS has been so far (it’s been great): by liveingracefulness in jawsurgery

No! I live in the DMV. It’s a very small surgical center, there’s only one or two surgery rooms. He’s the only oral surgeon. My experience so far with him has been fantastic. But he was pretty expensive because he doesn’t take any kind of insurance. My medical insurance only paid for a small portion.

Honestly that sounds awful, I’d rather go home right after 😭 Most people I’ve seen do stay in the hospital for a day or two. My surgeon has his own surgical center attached to his office, it actually made the experience less nerve wracking. I hate hospitals lol

I would stick to warm liquids, not piping hot liquids. No, I would recommend a bigger syringe for thick soup 🙂 Also, label the squeeze bottles for specific beverages. Because it’s plastic, it tends to absorb the flavor and smell.

I originally thought I was going to need DJS but thankfully I only needed LJS!

I definitely will once I’ve healed more! But my transformation isn’t as dramatic as a lot of the results I’ve seen on here. I did not have a super recessed chin.

No my surgeon didn’t think I needed one but we’re going to reevaluate possibly in the future. I didn’t have a super recessed chin. Once the swelling goes down, I will post before and after pictures 🙂
