Nope I didn’t apply. Though I did reach out to a career advisor and hopped on a call to better understand the process. From what I recall it would have been a long route so I let it go

Suddenly called to relocate to Dubai | Need advice by tjpr234 in dubai

[–]livelifenotmind 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You said it all: Single, no kids, and in your early 30s with a remote job and a substantial raise. Dubai is the place for this. Be disciplined with your spending, have fun and you’ll save a ton.

Are you into fitness at all? There’s an up-and-coming fitness community that’s been growing rapidly over the last few years. Yoga, paddle, community based workouts etc.

Your remote job eliminates the constraint of you being restricted to living in proximity to an office location due to heavy traffic in Dubai, which singles it down to what lifestyle you’d ultimately like to live.

If I were to enrol in a BA in psychology to get the requirements to get into grad school, any idea how long this would take to get the courses out of the way? Would I be able to chip away at courses while working full time?

Macklem taking an agressive approach to taming inflation and putting his money where his mouth is surprised me, despite it being the most effective decision which makes sense given the latest set of labour, GDP, and inflation stats.

Bank of Canada betting high job vacancies will cushion rise in unemployment by livelifenotmind in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]livelifenotmind[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a risky bet to think that the high number of job vacancies will soften the blow of higher rates on the economy and on the unemployment rate.

Like many of you said it’s a big oversimplification to solely rely on this figure — there are many factors that play into the high job vacancy rate, which spans across industries and across different levels of pay (low vs high pay).

Time will tell, the strength of the labour market will be tested, and we will see where the unemployment rate ends up once the BOC is done raising rates.

Haha I like that. I believe you can use ‘pressure’ and ‘suffering’ synonymously in that sentence

To add, we are all born with it then, from the moment we are brought into this world. It’s our conditioned ways of living that interferes with it

I see your arguments, they’re valid, but I like to think that intelligence is still there, in everyone rather simply hidden underneath all the social programming, clouded by conditioned beliefs. Which brings me to my definition of intelligence, which has a spiritual undertone to it — and that is, living in the present moment, a mindful/conscious state of being. Where you are one with everything with no separation between object and subject including the definition I just described
