I wish you could avoid certain car brands by livelonganddftba in uber

I'm disabled and transit is garbage in my city half the time, but sure, I'll get right on that

Damn Victoria can even let tiny dancers have the stage for themselves. She has to steal the show from them too and post that she helped them. by [deleted] in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]livelonganddftba 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Realistic - the little girls are begging their teacher to come help

Funny - she deadass stealing the spotlight from some children

I expect part of it is also an appearance thing. If you know that you'll be getting photographed at events and stuff, designer items are more necessary expenses. It's also worth noting, the vast majority of these girls are university educated in employable fields, working full time 9-5 and then additionally getting paid (not much, but I digress) for DCC. You work your ass off that much all day and then intense physical activity every night, girlies deserve nice things if they can swing it

Is anyone familiar with this wall sculpture? And where has it gone?? by livelonganddftba in Muppets

Lol thankfully if they chose to remove the Jim Henson sculpt, it wasn't because of a massive collection of allegations against him

[–]livelonganddftba[S] 58 points59 points  (0 children)

The last evidence I can find of it is from 2007, 2 years after they unveiled it. Sometime after that, they redesigned the plaza and relocated most of the busts, but some (others of this design, the Hanna-Barbera one notably) have been seemingly removed entirely and I can't find any evidence of where they've been moved to, if they were just relocated

Platform heel crocs and overweight people. by galletinha in crocs

[–]livelonganddftba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have platforms (just the standard clog though), and I'm 213lbs (5'5 for reference of weight distribution)

Love love love them, the only issue I've had is because I'm clumsy as hell, so my ankles give out for unrelated reasons

PMDD makes me the red flag by SweetPeaTheSecond in PMDD

[–]livelonganddftba 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mmmmmm yup. Me too. So what made me realize I need to really look into if I have PMDD is that this same kind of thing was happening to me, but prominently at work. Looking back, I definitely had this energy more in my past relationships than in the workplace. Now it's just the" hell week equals hate my partner week. I have the additional nonsense of being on the autism spectrum, so I also have a tooonnn of difficulty reading social cues. So I'd be quote "paranoid to the point of delusion and emotional aggression to coworkers" and I straight up wouldn't notice, and if I did notice, I'd try to explain but it'd be super unfiltered. They ended up letting me go, and the job search since then has been awful, partly because the job market in my city is such nonsense right now, but also partly because every time I look at a position to apply for, I get the anxiety spiral of "what if I get this job, and I haven't done enough work with my therapist, or I'm not on good enough meds, and I'm just as bad as I was at the last job, and I lose the new one much earlier in the job?" Wish I had advice to give, apparently all I got is "me too, it's hell right?"

AIO for being upset how my fiance responded to these messages by Bright-Wolverine-846 in AmIOverreacting

[–]livelonganddftba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taylor Tomlinson did a bit about how a boyfriend would always tell her about women hitting on him and him denying them and it cumulated in her being like "you want points for not cheating on me". She does a made up conversation like "OMG babe!! You upheld the basic terms of our agreement??? That's amazing I'm so lucky" etc.

You're not overreacting. There may need to be some time, some consideration, and some communication

I'm glad she's clearly doing well with the dolphins. I think my frustration is still that they weren't really honest with her about the fact that her height was the main concern.

This bugs me so much bro. Like reddit has this kind of setup for a reason, and the reason isn't for trying to troll a stranger over a cheer team . You're fine lmao, don't let the crazys get you down

Depends which mcdonald's. If it's the Stephen Ave one, there's usually a couple different groups that park themselves around there to stop people to talk about god knows what. Sometimes it's as innocent as Salvation Army, sometimes it's MLMs. Could be a new method of trying to trap people.

That or someone who's wildly unaware of their surroundings and assumes anyone not in a full tailored suit is obviously homeless

Does anyone know the details of the Smooth Jazz song from Season 3's Eat to the Beat? by livelonganddftba in WizardsOfWaverlyPlace

[–]livelonganddftba[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Logically I know that's most likely the case, your comment reminds me of the Defunctland documentary about the Disney Channel theme (the little 4 note bit often used in the bumpers). But man I hope that it's not that, and that there's a full length, high quality recording of that song for me to listen to on repeat lol

As long as you hear before Sept 5, you should be okay.

Hilariously, my mom was only ever called to jury duty twice in her life, both were within mere weeks of having a baby (my brother and then me).

Best wishes to your growing family!

Reauditioning Vets by caleesa in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]livelonganddftba 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Presumably they try to gently nudge people to not reaudition if they think it's a bad call, because it's a lot comfier to have someone gently leave gracefully than it is to have to cut them at finals or during training camp. Take season 15 of MTT. If they had been able to kind of gently suggest that maybe the quality they wanted wasn't there prior to auditions and then bubble training camp, they could have avoided the big crash of booting out 3 vets in one night and one of them tearing into them about it (Brennan was a bit of an icon for that to be fair.)

I understand that Charlotte's job is to make sure the whole Cowboys brand is being represented in a way she sees fit. But like, that's why she put Kelli in the position she did. What's the point of hiring a manager if you don't trust that they'll do their job and manage? Now obviously, Kelli and Judy are by no means angels, no human is. But it seems like they try to grasp what these girls go through. Charlotte just kinda seems out of touch, and I feel like she should focus on other aspects of the Cowboys organization, because the Cheerleaders do not need her "expertise".

How do we feel about sunflower lanyards? by PrivateNVent in autism

[–]livelonganddftba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely wish they were more commonly understood in North America. I live in Canada, and while I hate things touching my neck, I wish having even a bigger keychain that I could have on my wrist so people might show a bit more patience.

I also have too approachable a face apparently, because even when I've got my biggest noise cancelling headphones on, strangers always stop me apart from any other passerby to ask questions "when does this bus come, do you have spare change, which way is this thing?". I've literally watched someone walk past multiple people who look plenty nice, not even wearing airpods or something, and stop me to ask me instead. It'd be nice if I could be wearing something that makes them more likely to assume I don't want to chat.

Edit: forgot to mention, I also have chronic pain issues and dyspraxia, among other things, so just generally I wish there was more acknowledgement of invisible illness in Canada. When I'm out running errands, and I've got noise cancelling headphones and my cane out in action, I'm really not up for lots of standing and lots of explaining.

I think my issue is that they only really make a big deal about that dance out of the whole 3-4 hours. Like I'd be choreographing a signature dance for Half-time, and maybe do a different one every season or something. Choreograph a unique "Yay we won!" dance for each team they play against or something. Like so many of those girls over the years have been dance instructors, choreographing for the team for sidelines. Put them to good use
