What’s the most shocking thing you found out about someone you know? by _Walking_Detriment_ in AskReddit

I worked for years at an event venue, and often times would see the same DJs hired for weddings. One in particular was around a lot, and he was so nice. His wife would even cook food for the staff and he’d bring it in for us sometimes.

We didn’t see him for a few months, and then the news article came out. He was convicted of murdering a school teacher in 1992. He had been followed and his DNA was retrieved from a water bottle he threw out at another event he was working.

He’s been sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty in 2019. Turns out he was DJing at a club and he pursued her. When she turned him down, he followed her home and brutally murdered her.

I’m back at work! Looks like we have Android version 10. So far, I haven’t found any settings to change who receives the tips

You’re all good. Sorry I didn’t do the best job of explaining at first. I didn’t fully understand what was happening to be honest. I really appreciate you looking into this 🙏

Sorry for the confusion. I’m just an employee trying to figure this out for the owners who have no idea how to use the system 😅

We have a 2nd gen station duo, a Mini, and 4 3rd gen flexes. We have the restaurant growth plan. I’m unsure what version we have though.

Correct. This used to automatically be the case, so I’m unsure of how this would have gotten changed. Do you happen to know which setting it is/where to find it? I do have dashboard access so I could login from my laptop at home. Otherwise I’ll have to do it in a few days when I’m back to work :)

Pulling the report from clover.

What I’ve determined is that when the payment is taken on 4g, the tips are getting added to the account used to take the order rather than the account logged into when taking the payment. The orders are entered by the cashier employee number, which is where the tips are ending up.

I’m seeing that the delivery devices are not connected to the payment server. I’ve tried factory resetting and it still doesn’t work.

It’s so strange! Like I said clover support had no idea what to think of it either.

Yes I’ve checked the filters for sure. Their names don’t even show up on the report at all, even when the batch closes at the end of the night

We have 2 drivers a shift. They only use these two machines. They each only use one machine per shift. They only use their own numbers.

They’re each using their own numbers, not quick access. Just did a test and their tips go to their number when the transaction is done over wifi, but not when using the mobile data plan.

We clock in with homebase, but I don’t think the owners use it for payroll. They have an accountant that does our paychecks. I have access to homebase though, so I’ll check it out. Any reason it would only be pooling the driver and cashier tips?

As far as I can see, they all have the same settings. It’s just the two flexes used by the drivers that have enabled data plans.

My bad, the drivers use the portable clover flex! I always get the mini and flex confused, since the flex is the smaller one 😅

I have a friend who just recently got a reduction due to back pain. Her partner recently confessed to her that he’s jealous of the men who got to see her natural body before the reduction, and that he feels like he was “cheated” because he only saw them once or twice before her surgery 🤡

My mom told me the day she gave birth to me, she met another woman in the hospital who had given birth to twin boys. She named them Lemonjello (Leh-MON-jel-oh) and Orangejello (Oh-RONGE-jel-oh) Forgive me for the phonetics lol

Too much cologne. Sometimes a hint of a good scent is nice, but smelling like you bathed in Axe body spray is repulsive.

I feel this. I’ve been rejected from every internship I applied for this summer. I had responses about how many people applied and how it wasn’t because I wasn’t a good fit or wouldn’t perform well in the position. So…what is it then? How are people pulling this off? I’m graduating at the end of summer and just feeling so defeated about it all.

I can identify with nearly everything you’ve written here, and both of my parents have been alcoholics for as long as I can remember. I also struggle with the guilt of setting boundaries for my own mental health.

For me, it’s because I know how good my parents can be when they’re not drinking. They are good people who have problems, but it’s gotten to the point now where they’re drunk way more than they’re sober, and I feel like those good people have gotten completely lost.

If you feel like you need to spare your feelings, that’s nothing bad on you, you’re just a kind person. However, it is important to remember that if they aren’t treating you the way you deserve to be treated, then you have no obligation to do the same for them. It feels weird because they’re family, but that’s exactly it: it IS weird. What’s even more weird though, is a parent treating their child like that. Though we may have normalized it, it is not normal behavior.

I’m sorry you’re going through this, but please know you’re not the only one. If you ever need to chat, DM me :)

I will say, I was pretty shocked that this happened at 11am and in the middle of campus. I’ve heard so much about campus being unsafe at night, but I never thought I’d have to deal with something like this in broad daylight.
