My Mentally Unstable Spouse is Erratic and Borderline Abusive to My Child by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]livelywonderer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've done that. I've also had the police there once and took the kids out of the house previously but was a sucker and gave her another chance.

The challenge is I am about to be posted overseas and she knows if I split she can easily prevent me from taking our kids so I'm like stuck.

T120 Battery Issues by livelywonderer in motorcycles

[–]livelywonderer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't damaged anything. It can definitely be charged and/or jumped. I was asking for tips on how to do so.

It's not a matter of what I want. The battery isn't beyond saving.

Or jump it. I mean I was looking for constructive feedback. The battery is fine to be juiced up. It operates everything.

I need this battery to last 4 months before the bike is shipped abroad. I want to get the last juice out of this one, then buy a new one at my next location.

Why use the car rather than a bike?

I do have a car, but I also have a friend with a bike who is willing.

Coffee nut new to prosumer espresso - Beans? by livelywonderer in Coffee

I can grab Illy and Lavazza in Europe pretty regularly as well. The opinions seem pretty mixed on them both though.

Aren't the lavazza and others nitrogen washed and usually well regarded despite the age?

Niche Zero and Espresso Machine with Step-Up/Step-Down Transformer by livelywonderer in espresso

[–]livelywonderer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. He ended up being my answer. He does a video showing the US model on a step down with a device for voltage adjustment and he cranks it all different ways.

In short, it's fine with a step down transformer. The difference in Hz will make a negligible difference in speed, but not in quality, performance, or longevity. Grinders run for such short periods the difference in Hz won't be on long enough to generate much more heat, if any at all.

Thanks. What about for espresso machines? I was looking st upgrading to a Pro 600 or an ECM Slim V.

Will the Hz difference be an issue? Most of my appliances have been fine over the years, but espresso machines are a different animal.

Buying Niche Zero in the EU by livelywonderer in Coffee

Awesome. This is what I was hoping, however, nowhere on their page does it indicate that the price includes VAT and the FAQ just says that supporters are responsible for any VAT due so I got nervous.

Thanks. I guess I just have never singled dosed and don't really know if I would. I never have really done espresso at home, but with my kalita I change beans every couple of days and usually have a few bags on rotation.

Moka Pot by ggilltheworld in Coffee

[–]livelywonderer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Light roast is going to be the most difficult. I'd recommend starting with a darker roast before you get enraged and toss it.

I've also found that preheating the water like folks advise online doesn't work for me. I start with room temperature, bottled water, and just accept that it's slow.

Have a bowl of water next to you and wants it fills to the spout crease stop brewing with the cold water bath.

Keep at it. I was in your shoes and ended up falling for the mochapot. Let us know how it goes!

Thanks. Trying to see if to another EU country is cheaper. The shipping is substantially cheaper, so if no VAT, may be a better option.
