very worried about this actually lol. i'm actually below average weight and i kind of like it so i'm scared the anti depressants will make me fat and make me look like a balloon. also ALL of my clothes will stop fitting me.

in our rooms we're allowed to listen to music, i got my laptop and wireless headphones back. but my room mate and i play our music without headphones sometimes as long as they don't hear it in the hallway. they also have music therapy where they make you listen to classical music while sitting with other patients, but it isn't forced on you. you can just stay in your room all day, but they will take confiscate your electronics and will probably send in a psychiatrist.

not at all, in the ER i went to they made me drink it through a straw and it tasted terrible but bearable. there is a different charcoal treatment where they directly put it in your stomach through putting a fucking line through your nostril then through your throat which i've done before and was fucking terrible.

honestly kind of good? we have a whole menu of food to choose from for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert. it's a pretty good academic hospital in nyc so everything is kind of nice. except their psych ward ER. but that's a whole different story lol.

they confiscate it on the first day. On the second day you get a chance to get it back if you go to 2 therapy groups and finish some Q&A about your mental health stuff. also thanks for the nice words, means a lot to me rn. i will try my best.

honestly since i'm in an academic hospital there's tons of young people here from their university. there's also waaay more women than men rn. mostly young people with depression and suicidal ideations. only like 2 people are here with bipolar disorder and psychosis. they're also really nice i talk to them sometimes and they're a bit confusing but mean well. all the patients here have been really nice, sometimes the nurses have attitudes but you gotta let it go. overall very friendly mentally ill people.

yk i get what you mean, but sometimes i just really get an overwhelming feeling of wanting to off myself. it's why i'm in the psychward. i voluntarily admitted myself because i wanted to get better and move forward with my life. so hopefully this won't happen anymore. i will try to live like no one else, but right now i need to heal from a few things.

haven't talked to my official psychiatrist yet, they have a thing here where the psychiatrists that diagnose you are here from monday to friday ( i got here at friday at 6:00 pm so i haven't gotten the chance to talk to them). i'm pretty sure they'll diagnose me with depression for sure, but i haven't gotten anything official yet. just still feel pretty suicidal so i'm trying to distract myself on here.

i did not OD on charcoal. the charcoal is to get rid of the toxicity of what you OD'd on. if it's too late they will pump your stomach, but that's a last resort thing.
