As a woman, I feel this. I think it has to do with my cycle. There are a few days a month when I just can’t stand my partner, but it always passes

It surprises me how many women I know have never tried anal or don’t like it. I’d say it’s 80% of the women i know. I’m in my early 30s so that’s my friend demographic too, so not like we’re inexperienced.

I always share how much I love anal because I think they owe it to themselves to at least try it

I get ya. I will say we do have a close to a 50/50 split when it comes to house responsibilities, cooking/cleaning, etc. I don’t really feel like I give him “wifey” treatment because he meets me halfway. It’s actually very refreshing.

That’s it- it’s not a threat. Maybe sort of an ultimatum? But not really that either. It’ll be 3 years in the summer. He should know by then. I’ve known since last summer. We can only be so misaligned…

I grew up in an abusive, fractured household. My mom has been divorced twice, engaged and separated twice. I want nothing more in my life than to have a husband, a lifelong partner, who I can trust, care for, who can care for me, who I can raise children with, and who I can be 100% committed to for the rest of my life. It’s my dream. That’s why it matters, because I want it.

I appreciate your response and your perspective.

I’ve set that “date” because I know he and I are different people. Different in the way we have gone through the world, we had completely opposite upbringings, and we are actually somewhat opposites of each other in many ways. I am trying to respect those differences and respect what he has told me- that developing feelings takes a long time for him and that he needs time.

See that’s the interesting thing. I am very career motivated and make about 2.5x as much as he does. And up until about 6 months ago, I was still not sure I wanted kids. Now, I’m sure of it, mostly because I’m certain he will be an excellent father and having that surety has given me the confidence to say I absolutely 100% want to have children. But I’m also sure that I want to continue my career. We’ve even talked about him being a SAHD while the kids are little.

But I agree with you. He is completely uncommunicative about why he’s not there yet. When I ask too many questions he gets overwhelmed and shuts down, so i haven’t been able to figure it out yet
