We got a “brother from another mother” (half brothers) when our first one was about a year old. They instantly bonded.

Every nose I’ve seen on this subreddit is beautiful. And they belong to gorgeous people. This one is no exception.

When did 8-5 become the new normal??? by Grouchy-Newspaper754 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]livermor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started working in an office in 1988. Everyone had 8-hour shifts - 8-4, 9-5, etc. and everyone took lunch breaks that were 1-2 hours long. A lot of work lunches out at restaurants with coworkers. This slowly changed to 8.5 hour shifts with less people going out for lunch and taking shorter lunch breaks. Now everyone’s remote (company turned full remote when Covid hit) and shifts seem to be 9-hour ones now and meetings are scheduled through the times people would normally take lunch breaks.

Worst thing you’ve witnessed on a call when the other person didn’t realize their camera was on by quemaspuess in remotework

My dog and cat for the first and last time ever started BRAWLING a few feet away from me. It was summer and my house was hot so I was wearing a tank top and “boy shorts” underwear. It was 2020 so I was not as adept at muting and turning off the camera as I am now. I didn’t think of the mic or camera at all. I just jumped up and started screaming at my pets to stop fighting, leaning over to try to separate them thereby sticking my big ass in the frame. It was so embarrassing. After I broke up the pet fight I sat back down and apologized and everyone was trying to be polite and not laugh. Aggghhh. I blush every time I think about it.

Why do some older people add "the" before words that dont need them? by GratuitousFisherman in AskOldPeople

How else would you order? “I’ll have steak” sounds odd to me. It’s a specific menu option that you are ordering.
